Markiss meets Kiss
Well I finally did it. I have met Kiss in the flesh. Only been waiting to do that for the past 31 years since I have been a Kiss fan. Yup, that's me and Gene Simmons above. They were all great people and all willing to sign anything you put in front of them.
Oh and I met Whitesnake backstage too. Here is David Coverdale after he just got off stage.
You can see all the photo's of the concert and Amsterdam here.
You can see the official photo's of meeting Kiss here.

Water Rat's Itinerary 2008
Uncle Barry has sent me the new Itinerary for the Water Rat's in 2008. Not sure if any of the Jersey crew are going this year but you can download it from the link below if you want to take a look.
I have just been taking a peak at the Rat's website and found something quite amusing. I'm sure Mr P will find it funny too. Here are a few lines pinched from the site. It is part of a diary from the 2007 Tour:
"Day 6:
Of course that night becomes a night to remember, at least for our friend Tony from Jersey. After the session Tony goes back to the Jersey Brats' boat, but in the dark night she falls off a small wall and hurts her left leg very badly. She is brought to a Norwich hospital where the emergency team looks after her leg. Unfortunately, there is no George Clooney on duty at the Norwich ER that night."
and this one:
"Day 7
Friday morning, nice weather, everybody trying to get a mooring space in the tiny harbour of Rockland St Mary. We arrive at a crowded "New Inn". The band plays pretty swingin', and even Tony, our Jersey girl, seems to be well off again after last nights bloody experience. Beer seems to be tasty again, and can there be any better proof of being okay? "
You can read those two and see the pictures here for Day 6 and Day 7.
Well I thought it was funny. Maybe we should call you Mrs P from now on :-)

St Malo Blockade
This doesn't make for good reading if you have organised a weekend to St Malo! Let's hope it stays on the Freight ships and not the Passenger ships, otherwise we will be on the piss in St Helier I think.

Match of the Bay '08
Match of the Bay is on Sunday 4th May this year if anyone fancies coming.
Should be a good laugh as it was last year. Even managed to get a few photo's of it. Not of the actual football though. Will try and get some this year.
Will St Mary retain the cup or will St Ouen steal it from their clasp?
Only one way to find out! Kick off at 3pm............. I think! Well it has been for the past 16 years!

End of an Era
Today has been a bit of a headf*ck day for me. We have got a skip and are in the process of emptying out the office. I am still working while the others are filling it up though. I seem to have loads of work to finish by the end of the week and there is no chance in hell that it will be finished in time.
I was only told yesterday that the idea was to have the company closed down by Friday! I suppose these things need to have a date set otherwise nothing will ever happen. So 3 day's left of employment and counting. Then on to bigger and better things.
Anyone fancy giving me a job :-) Go on you know you want to.

Change of Scene
In my last post I mentioned that life is a bit up and down at the moment for me. The reason is that I am now out of a job. Well, will be in a couple of weeks.
Unfortunately I was told 4 weeks ago that 2 out of the 3 staff were leaving and starting up elsewhere. This leaves me on my own to run the whole practise, which of course I can't do on my own so I have had to close shop!
"One door closes and another one opens" is the saying, so fingers crossed it will be a bigger and better door :-)
Am actually looking forward to it to tell you the truth. Just need to start getting the cash in to pay the bills then I will be fine.
I'll keep you posted but just thought I'd let you know why this place hasn't had much going on recently. Well now you know.
I really hope 2008 starts to get a bit better.

Easter in France
Back from my Holidays and getting back into the swing of normal life again. (Well as normal as it can get for now but more about that at a later date) I do love going away but also do like to get back home so I can eat a normal amount again :-)
We went to France this trip and made the most of Lisa's Birthday and the long Easter weekend.
A quick Itinerary would be:
Jersey-Saint Malo-Bordeaux-Cognac-La Rochelle-La Baule-Quiberon-Concarneau-Dinan-Saint Malo.
We went with Lorraine and Father Parker. Saw some really nice things and places along the way. Went to Saint Emilion and did some wine tasting there. Felt a little tipsy after that! Saw where the Nazi's constructed their submarines in Bordeaux. Walked past the Camus factory in Cognac. Went to the Aquarium in La Rochelle.
Went to some lovely restaurants too. I suppose my favourite would be Le Cottage in Dinan.
I suppose the worst restaurant must have been this pizza place:
We didn't eat there of course, I just found it quite amusing. I suppose something like that would be great at 2 o'clock in the morning after a heavy session in town or something.
Anyway, as per usual I have uploaded some photo's of the trip on Flickr if you want to take a look.

Storms in Jersey II
It's quite amazing to see the force of Tide and Wind together. To think that some of these granite blocks you can see must be well over a ton in weight! Well anyway, that's what happened to our coast line last night.

Storms in Jersey
If you are in Jersey at the moment you will have noticed a slight breeze outside today.
I have just been sent some photo's of what this breeze is doing to the South coast too!
Have a look for yourselves they are quite large photo's so may take a few seconds to load.
I think I will take the North coast road back home tonight.

Sketch It
This is an xlnt game. It's a little bit patchy but a great concept for a game. I look forward to there being other levels and seeing if the writer can sort out the circles from rectangles and lines.
Get the Red ball to the Star by drawing shapes.
The game is in the extended entry:

Arrow Rock Festival
I have decided not to go to the Downloads festival after all. They are only selling weekend tickets and not day ones so thought £140 or so was a bit much to just go and see Kiss.
I have however found out a better place to go and see them now. I'm going to see them at the Arrow Rock Festival. It is close to Amsterdam in a place called Nijmegen. It means a flight from Jersey to England and then to Amsterdam but will make the most of being away and spend a few days there hopefully.
The line up is looking quite good at the moment too. Kiss, Journey, Whitesnake and Def Leppard. Twisted Sister are rumoured to be playing it too.
