Markiss meets Kiss
Well I finally did it. I have met Kiss in the flesh. Only been waiting to do that for the past 31 years since I have been a Kiss fan. Yup, that's me and Gene Simmons above. They were all great people and all willing to sign anything you put in front of them.
Oh and I met Whitesnake backstage too. Here is David Coverdale after he just got off stage.
You can see all the photo's of the concert and Amsterdam here.
You can see the official photo's of meeting Kiss here.

Water Rat's Itinerary 2008
Uncle Barry has sent me the new Itinerary for the Water Rat's in 2008. Not sure if any of the Jersey crew are going this year but you can download it from the link below if you want to take a look.
I have just been taking a peak at the Rat's website and found something quite amusing. I'm sure Mr P will find it funny too. Here are a few lines pinched from the site. It is part of a diary from the 2007 Tour:
"Day 6:
Of course that night becomes a night to remember, at least for our friend Tony from Jersey. After the session Tony goes back to the Jersey Brats' boat, but in the dark night she falls off a small wall and hurts her left leg very badly. She is brought to a Norwich hospital where the emergency team looks after her leg. Unfortunately, there is no George Clooney on duty at the Norwich ER that night."
and this one:
"Day 7
Friday morning, nice weather, everybody trying to get a mooring space in the tiny harbour of Rockland St Mary. We arrive at a crowded "New Inn". The band plays pretty swingin', and even Tony, our Jersey girl, seems to be well off again after last nights bloody experience. Beer seems to be tasty again, and can there be any better proof of being okay? "
You can read those two and see the pictures here for Day 6 and Day 7.
Well I thought it was funny. Maybe we should call you Mrs P from now on :-)

This doesn't make for good reading if you have organised a weekend to St Malo! Let's hope it stays on the Freight ships and not the Passenger ships, otherwise we will be on the piss in St Helier I think.

Match of the Bay '08
Match of the Bay is on Sunday 4th May this year if anyone fancies coming.
Should be a good laugh as it was last year. Even managed to get a few photo's of it. Not of the actual football though. Will try and get some this year.
Will St Mary retain the cup or will St Ouen steal it from their clasp?
Only one way to find out! Kick off at 3pm............. I think! Well it has been for the past 16 years!

End of an Era
Today has been a bit of a headf*ck day for me. We have got a skip and are in the process of emptying out the office. I am still working while the others are filling it up though. I seem to have loads of work to finish by the end of the week and there is no chance in hell that it will be finished in time.
I was only told yesterday that the idea was to have the company closed down by Friday! I suppose these things need to have a date set otherwise nothing will ever happen. So 3 day's left of employment and counting. Then on to bigger and better things.
Anyone fancy giving me a job :-) Go on you know you want to.

Change of Scene
In my last post I mentioned that life is a bit up and down at the moment for me. The reason is that I am now out of a job. Well, will be in a couple of weeks.
Unfortunately I was told 4 weeks ago that 2 out of the 3 staff were leaving and starting up elsewhere. This leaves me on my own to run the whole practise, which of course I can't do on my own so I have had to close shop!
"One door closes and another one opens" is the saying, so fingers crossed it will be a bigger and better door :-)
Am actually looking forward to it to tell you the truth. Just need to start getting the cash in to pay the bills then I will be fine.
I'll keep you posted but just thought I'd let you know why this place hasn't had much going on recently. Well now you know.
I really hope 2008 starts to get a bit better.

Easter in France
Back from my Holidays and getting back into the swing of normal life again. (Well as normal as it can get for now but more about that at a later date) I do love going away but also do like to get back home so I can eat a normal amount again :-)
We went to France this trip and made the most of Lisa's Birthday and the long Easter weekend.
A quick Itinerary would be:
Jersey-Saint Malo-Bordeaux-Cognac-La Rochelle-La Baule-Quiberon-Concarneau-Dinan-Saint Malo.
We went with Lorraine and Father Parker. Saw some really nice things and places along the way. Went to Saint Emilion and did some wine tasting there. Felt a little tipsy after that! Saw where the Nazi's constructed their submarines in Bordeaux. Walked past the Camus factory in Cognac. Went to the Aquarium in La Rochelle.
Went to some lovely restaurants too. I suppose my favourite would be Le Cottage in Dinan.
I suppose the worst restaurant must have been this pizza place:
We didn't eat there of course, I just found it quite amusing. I suppose something like that would be great at 2 o'clock in the morning after a heavy session in town or something.
Anyway, as per usual I have uploaded some photo's of the trip on Flickr if you want to take a look.

Storms in Jersey II
It's quite amazing to see the force of Tide and Wind together. To think that some of these granite blocks you can see must be well over a ton in weight! Well anyway, that's what happened to our coast line last night.

If you are in Jersey at the moment you will have noticed a slight breeze outside today.
I have just been sent some photo's of what this breeze is doing to the South coast too!
Have a look for yourselves they are quite large photo's so may take a few seconds to load.
I think I will take the North coast road back home tonight.

Arrow Rock Festival
I have decided not to go to the Downloads festival after all. They are only selling weekend tickets and not day ones so thought £140 or so was a bit much to just go and see Kiss.
I have however found out a better place to go and see them now. I'm going to see them at the Arrow Rock Festival. It is close to Amsterdam in a place called Nijmegen. It means a flight from Jersey to England and then to Amsterdam but will make the most of being away and spend a few days there hopefully.
The line up is looking quite good at the moment too. Kiss, Journey, Whitesnake and Def Leppard. Twisted Sister are rumoured to be playing it too.

Neil & Toots on TV
Remember the post about Friends of mine being on the ITV 4 Grand Slam Darts a while back?
Well I have had a new photo sent in by Neil and Toot's with them on T.V as well now. Not quite as easy to spot them as Ian and Ness but they assure me they are there. If you squint your eyes and get really close to the screen you can see them on the bottom left, front row, behind the 'P' & the 'S'.
Honestly they are there :-)
Oh and for those who are interested the game was Man Utd 1-2 Man City on Feb 10th 2008.

Pub Games
Well it looks as though I do need a dart board of my own after all. So I can get the practice in!
Went to the pub last night and Amy (the barmaid) challenged us to a game of round the clock.
Let's put it this way, she was in the Bull by the time I got to number 7.
I don't seem to be doing well with any of the games at the moment as I'm loosing the pool and the crib too.
Watch this space on the crib though as I can feel a winning streak coming on.

Kiss Bar
Seems I am going Kiss mad at the moment. Got given a Kiss Dartboard for Christmas and managed to fit it this weekend. Have put it in my bar which I think is going to have to be a Kiss bar from now on. Apart from the Kiss Dartboard, I have got a Kiss Duck, Kiss Tie, Kiss wine, Kiss autographs, Kiss toy figures, Kiss miniature guitar, Kiss Neon Bar sign and Kiss lighters. Oh and of course I have Kiss c.d's too. Now all I need is some Kiss Lager and the place will be sorted.
Off to eBay to see if they do anything of the sort.

Kiss play at Download

I have found out that
are in the lineup for the Download Festival 2008 at donington. Thanks for that Karl.
Also on the play list are
and
. Three bands that I love. Not sure what days the bands are playing yet but one thing is for sure, I'm not going to miss this festival. I missed the Melbourne Symphony concert and lived to regret that. Ok that was going to cost me close to £1500 but still would have done it if I could.
Should be interesting to see who else is in the lineup at Download.

House of Commons Cognac
I have a bottle of "House of Commons" Camus Napoleon Cognac. I want to find out about it, so I do some searches on the Internet. Can I find anything about it? Can I bollox!
So the next best thing is to show you guys what it looks like and maybe in a couple of years somebody will stumble across this post and will tell me something about it. I wont hold my breath but you never know.
All I know about the bottle is that I was given it in 1991 in Norwich for my 21st Birthday. It also has a serial number on the back.
Any help would be appreciated.

How to fit a cat flap
I am well chuffed with myself today. Last night I fitted a cat flap to the front door. You see, I'm not the best when it comes to handy work, I suppose I am average. Mind you at least everything I put up stays up. Apart from my bed but that's another story! Anyway back to the flap. I had to borrow a jigsaw to do it as I don't have many tools of my own (at the moment). The scary bit was cutting a great big hole in my front door. Imagine if I screwed up at that point? Howling wind coming into the house for the next few weeks until I had a professional fit me a new door! That would have been a right nightmare.
I even took some photo's so I could prove I did it. Let's hope the thing stays up now. Oh and had better go get a couple of kittens too.
For those who are interested (I may get a few search hits for "How to fit a cat flap") and actually want to know how to fit a cat flap then the photo's are in the extended entry.
The front door before I was let loose on it:

With the template provided, mark out where you want the flap to go. You can probably see I changed my mind a few times. Four holes are then drilled in the corners. The holes had to be big enough for me to get the jigsaw blade in:

Cut the timber out with the jigsaw, this is where I am hoping it is the right size. It's better to do a smaller hole as you can always enlarge it to suit:

Cat flap screwed from back to front et voila, a fitted cat flap:

Now what can I do? A gate in the garden? Worktop in the garage? Fit a new bathroom? I think I will sit down and have a beer and think about it.

Housing Qualifications
I have been talking to someone this morning about housing qualifications in Jersey. He was worried that if he left the Island for a number of years he would lose his quallies. Well after looking on the Jersey Government website I found he is going to have no problems. I must admit that it surprised me too. I always thought that if I left the Island, for more than five years, I would lose my quals.
If you are born in Jersey (and have your qualifications) then you can leave for as long as you like and return whenever you like. 10 years, 20 years it's up to you.
Now if you weren't born here but gained your quallies from living here for the required period (10 years at the moment I think) you can only leave the Island for 5 years. You must let Housing know when you leave and when you return. If you are away for even one day over that, you will lose you quallies.
You can read more on the States of Jersey Government Site.

R.I.P Grandad
I had some very sad news at the beginning of this year. My Grandad passed away in his sleep aged 90. He was an amazing man. Unfortunately I couldn't see him as much as I would have liked to because he lived in England but I have lot's of fond memories of him. He was into fishing and boating, so I had no chance of not getting on with him :-)
Here is his Obituary taken from the Eastern Daily Press
William Robert Tuttle
William Robert Tuttle, who has died aged 90, was a leading Norfolk justices' clerk who spent almost half a century at the centre of the judicial system.
It was his boyhood ambition to become clerk to his local magistrates in Yarmouth and Bob, as he was always known, spent 17 years in the top post.
Highly respected by magistrates and the legal profession for his dedication and professionalism in a career spanning 46 years, he retired in October 1977.
Mr Tuttle was born in Yarmouth and went to the Priory School. He represented Norfolk at the inter-county school sports in the 100 yards and high hurdles. Aged 14, he joined solicitors Chamberlin, Talbot & Bracey as junior clerk to a partner, Geoffrey Bracey, who was also magistrates' clerk.
He became chief assistant to the bench in 1936. Shortly before the outbreak of war, he joined 245 Battery Heavy Anti-Aircraft. He became a sergeant major serving with the Queen's Royal Regiment, which saw action with the 56th Infantry Division (The "Black Cats") in Italy.
He was demobbed and returned to Yarmouth. He was made deputy chief clerk in 1957, although he had been acting in that role for five years.
In 1960, he was clerk to Yarmouth justices and in a series of reorganisations became clerk to the East and West Flegg Petty Sessional Division in 1964 and then in 1975 the Cromer and North Walsham Divisions.
On retirement, he spoke of major changes in the magistracy. In 1931, the Yarmouth court sat three or four times a week, starting at 11am and finishing well before lunch. There was a part-time clerk and three assistants.
By 1977, the Yarmouth group of courts, including Cromer and North Walsham, had 850 sessions and the bench rarely finished before lunch. He was responsible for 16 assistants. "Crime continues to increase," he said at the time.
A keen angler, with rod and line at sea, Mr Tuttle, who lived at Fritton, also enjoyed shooting and especially sailing his own boat. His former deputy and his successor, Jack Bacon, recalled several occasions going to sea in Bob's fishing boat.
About that time, Mr Tuttle bought the Latona, which had been built at Cantley in 1913, with two friends from funeral director Len Jary. Subsequently, this vessel was invited to join the 25th anniversary of the flotilla of "Little Ships" to re-create the 1940 Dunkirk evacuation. But, in wartime confusion of that 11 days of assembling hundreds of craft, the real honour should have gone to another Latona, as it finally emerged in 1977.
However, Mr Tuttle was particularly proud that his Latona led the fleet into Dunkirk harbour in 1965 on what it transpired was not a sentimental return but her first visit. It was skippered by Harry Spencer, master of the port tug, with crew, Leonard Jary (former owner of the boat), Sid Palmer, former P & O quartermaster, and Mike Farman, then based at the EDP's Yarmouth office.
Mr Tuttle was married to Joan, who died in 1996, for 57 years, leaves four children, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held next Monday (9.20am) at Great Yarmouth Crematorium. Donations to Caister Lifeboat.
Here is the last photo I know of that was taken of Grandad. It was taken on the 16th December 2007.

Happy New Year.
A lot has happened since I last wrote on my site. Most of it was a little blurry to be honest.
I knew that would be the case when I counted the bottles of wine at home before we started the Christmas and New Year celebrations. 104 Bottles in total. Then there were the 6 crates of Lager too.
I wont go into to much detail as I wouldn't want to bore you lot.
The lunch I mentioned in my previous post was a great success. Success as in we both managed to stay in Town until the pubs closed. We were both pissed at 5pm but that's besides the point. Had an xlnt time, same again next December Chris?
Christmas day I had 8 people coming round and I was doing the cooking. The bird was a 16lb Turkey. It said it was big enough to feed 12-16 people. Well we managed to finish most of it. Went down the Farmers Inn for a few swifties first and then back to mine where I spent the next 3 hours in the Kitchen not being a very good host. I'm sure my guests were quite happy just filling up their glasses and chatting though.
Boxing day started off just right, as in slept in and when I finally got up all I did was sit in front of the T.V and veg out watching films. (Die Hard 4)
By the time night settled in we were ready to start again. So we decided to get the poker table laid and ended up playing that right through to the early hours. Not too sure what happened the next day but I would imagine I spent most of it asleep.
New year was spent down the Mary's, was the quietest I have ever seen it. Which wasn't a bad thing because you didn't have to wait long at the bar :-) There was a guitarist playing who I had never seen before. He wasn't bad after a few. I couldn't tell if he was actually singing or miming though.
Things heated up once we left there and went to Donna and Jon's place. Much more like a typical New Year, all sat round chatting into the early hours again. I got to bed just before 6am so must have enjoyed myself :-) Thanks for that guys.
Well there you go, not too much detail but you know what I got up to. Hope you all enjoyed yourselves and look forward to seeing everyone in the new year.
All the best for 2008

137°
I had a close one this morning on the way to work.
The roads were a little icy so everyone was going a little slower than normal. Suddenly the car in front of me decides to do a 180° for no reason (Well not quite a 180° more of a 137° I would say). I slowly put on my brakes and do a little zig zag from left to right but manage to keep it straight. Luckily I had kept quite a distance between us, as I remember what happened a couple of years ago. All good fun though.
The time now seems to be here where I don't know if I am finishing working until the 27th. I am going out for lunch with a mate today and will be staying in Town after that. Then we have the weekend, which is packed of things to do and people to see. The problem I have is do I go into work on Monday. We normally do but just for the morning, really just to say Happy Christmas and stuff. I know a lot of other offices aren't. If I don't then I am officially on my Christmas Hols in 1 hour :-)
Hope you all have a great time over Christmas.

Beav & Kiss Xmas Pool
This weekend was the Beav & Kiss Xmal pool competition. The idea is to drink a large quantity of Alcohol and play 1 game of pool at the end of the night.
Well the first part was quite easy to achieve. We met up at 7:30pm and had a quick appetiser of a can of Carling each while we waited for Gaz who was going to join us for the Evening. Then we went to the Farmers Inn for a couple of pints followed by the Windmill for 2 or 3 more.
The final leg was to get down to the Mary's where we filled up on even more Alcohol goodness.
By about 10:50pm we both agreed we were now ready for the match.
I would tell you a bit about the match if I could remember but all I do remember is that Gary was being a pain in the arse trying to commentate on the game and getting in the way :-)
Oh and the other thing I remember was that I won! Hahahahaha.
Then things started to get a bit pear shaped. For some reason Gary got a take out, not sure why but at least we had beer for the walk to the Windmill. We had a few more at the Windmill 'til about 1am. Beav had left at some point. Then walked back to my place with another take out can and finally got back to mine for a few more beers.
So that was my Friday night. A good result for me as I am the champion for another whole year :-)
Thanks for the game Beav it was a close one this year.

Led Zeppelin Reunion Gig
One place I would love to be on Monday is at London's 02 Arena. You know why? 'Cos Led Zeppelin are getting together for a reunion gig there in aid of the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund.
Two slight problems are:
1) I haven't got a ticket and if I did it would cost me between £500 - £10,000.
2) If I had one I probably wouldn't be able to get to the U.K because of the weather anyway.
So probably a good thing that I didn't have one after all.
Anyone fancy sitting outside the Arena with a tape recorder and recording the gig for me?

Xmas Meal
Well here comes a good weekend. It's the weekend when all the local St Mary's lot get together for a meal. I think last year Beav and I ended up having a scrap if my memory serves me correctly. Only a play fight mind.
There are 28 ish people coming to this one! So probably wont get to speak to half of them. I'm sure it will end up as a major piss up as normal.
Am going to have a practise run tonight with a few people, just to make sure I am ready for tomorrow.
They do say practise makes perfect, so after 22 years I should be a Pro!

If anyone is stuck on what to buy me for Christmas then here is a good idea.
For just a measly £114,703.66 you could buy me a House in the heart of Dinan.
It has it's own wooded area outside, has 3 bedrooms.

I hate SKY TV
Where do I start?
I have been getting well pissed off with Sky recently.
We pay a load of money for the service and what do we get?
Well I get a load of annoying shit from it tell you the truth.
Here are my 3 top annoyances from it (at the moment):
1) 15 minutes of bloody adverts in a 30 minute programme for a start!
Well it might not be 15 minutes but it's not that far off. I was watching something the other day and it was on for 2 minutes (if that) and it went on to adverts! 2 minutes!
I reckon I could go and have a shower when the adverts come on and actually get back downstairs before the program starts again!
2) Level of sound really annoys me too. I have a "Slight :-)" hearing problem, so I tend to have the volume up a little higher than most people. As soon as the adverts come on, I have to reach for my mute button because the volume nearly doubles! It gives me a bleedin' heart attack sometimes.
3) Signal on some channels is awful. Ok maybe something to do with whoever fitted the dish. I'm sure I was only allowed to have it fitted by somebody who is verified by Sky anyway. The really annoying thing is that it seems to be on the only channels I want to watch. I can't stand normal TV, as in soaps and all that shit, but all of the Discovery channels seem to be messed up big time.
I'm going to have a G&T and de-stress I think.
And to think I was being talked into getting Sky Plus!
I need a Dog.

WWRY

Went over to London this weekend to meet up with Ian and Ness.
We had booked to go and see We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre.
Wow what a show! I would really recommend going and seeing it for yourselves.
You will not be disappointed I can tell you.
The performances by the cast were absolutely brilliant and seemed to put in 200%.
It's one of those shows I would love to go back and see.
After the show we went for a few drinks and ended up getting our dinner in Subway as it was 1am and it was the only place open.
I'm glad it was, in the end, as I demolished it pretty quick.
I only found out recently that we have a Subway here in Jersey too.
So am going to check that out soon.
Was a great weekend away and of course the beer was cheaper over there than it is in our lovely VAT free Island.
So didn't spend a fortune either! I wanna go back now.
Well actually not now as it was bleedin' freezing over there.
I thought my ears were going to fall off when we were walking round Camden Market Yesterday.
When Ian and Ness got home it was even snowing!
Will wait until the Summer I think :-)

WWII Trophy plane
Remember the post I did titled "WWII Trophy Tank"?
Well would you believe a similar thing has happened with a plane now?
They've only just gone and found a P-38 Lightning fighter on a beach in Wales!

Lucky sods, why can't I find something like that?
There must be loads of stuff still scattered around Jersey from the War.

Connex
How shit is the bus service in Jersey?
I want to go somewhere on Sunday and went on to mybus.je which is the website for Connex who run the buses in Jersey. I couldn't see any buses on Sunday at all.
Stupid me thinks this must be a mistake so called them to find out what time the buses were. I got "Sorry there is no Sunday service until May next year!"
What? So I take it they think that people in Jersey don't go out on Sundays in the Winter.
What a bunch of £*&$^£*^ (Insert your own swear word there)

Red wine lessons
I learnt two things about red wine last night.
Firstly, you should always remember to put the cork back in the bottle if you don't finish that night.
Secondly, it's nearly impossible to see any flies in red wine when you're drinking it.
Lessons learnt!

Natwest Card Reader

I received a letter in the post this morning, from NatWest, telling me I am going to receive a card reader very soon.
Even before I have received it I am very sceptical about this device. OK I can see that it is going to make on-line banking a bit safer but I do have a few issues with it.
I suppose the first would be the practicality of using the thing. It seems that this device generates a unique number for you to log on to certain features. This is every time you log on not just the once. So it now means that I will have to carry this thing around with me everywhere I go. That just can't be practical can it? I use on-line banking from 3 computers.
Maybe they will send out extra readers for those people who need them. It also means that I have to carry my card around with me now as well. I didn't need to before this idea came about.
What happens when they run out of batteries? I know that's being a bit to critical but it will happen. Do we have to buy new ones or do they send us new ones. Maybe they send out a complete new reader!
What happens with joint accounts? Both people will need one to access the on-line banking. Then both people will probably want 2 or 3 of them. There are going to be millions of these things around the world soon, I can just see it.
I hope my other banks don't go this way. It just doesn't seem to be a green solution to this problem.
I'm all for making it harder for fraudsters and thief's but surely there is another way.
Thinking about it, thief's would love this, because everyone will be carrying the units around with them right next to their wallets. A nice little package for them in one place. Just what they wanted for Christmas.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this Card reader idea. For or Against?

Found a Car
Look what else we found on the site I am working on at the moment.

It's amazing what you can find when you cut a few bushes down here and there.
I don't think this site has had any gardeners on it for quite a few years!
Nice little motor don't you think. Would look nice in black with tinted windows.
Would make a good gangster car. Shame it has got so much rust on it.

In Heaven
Just got back from the Farmers and I was in Heaven. I opened the door and the smell just hit me in the face. I have been making a Jersey Bean Croc for the last 2-3 days and it smells gorgeous.
2 days of soaking the beans and then another day of cooking it. I can't wait for tomorrows dinner. Just need to stop off at a bakers (somewhere) and get a nice crispy French loaf to go with it.
Roll on tomorrow I say.

Blanches Banques POW Camp
A little Jersey History for you guys:
I am doing a job at the moment which has quite an interesting piece of Jersey History on the site.
It's an old prisoner of war hut from the Blanches Banques Prisoner of War camp during World War 1.
The camp held over 1500 German prisoners, 150 guards, and a staff of 20 or 30 officers.
I took a photo of what it looks like now and also managed to dig up some photo's of the original camp dating back to 1917. The photo's and a little explanation are in the extended entry:

This is what the pow hut looks like now. Considering it is over 90 years old it is at least still standing.

The 3 photo's above are what they originally looked like.

Rich Ross
So the BBC are going to slash salaries and force up to 2800 people out of a job because it needs to find £2bn! What the fuck? I'm not that surprised really considering they pay Jonathan Ross £6,000,000 per year. Where do they get off with giving him that much of our T.V licence money?
Maybe some good things could come from all of this. They may pull EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing. Now wouldn't that be a result? :-)

Is this me?
Was flicking through the Internet as I do and came across a photo.
Is it just me or does this look a little bit like me?
Or is it just because he/she is drinking alcohol and is the same pose I am used to being in?
Would be typical if I had found my double and he/she was a piss head.

Ya Pili dies
What a shame, I just found out that Ya Pili has died. Here is the excerpt from thisisjersey:
"Durrell staff are said to be devastated by the death of four-year-old gorilla Ya Pili.
The primate died yesterday from what was believed to be a viral illness. Staff have confirmed that, despite having thought that Ya Pili was a male since birth, she was in fact a female.
They only confirmed the sex when they started treating her for the illness this week, although the head of the team who looks after the gorillas, Richard Johnstone-Scott, had always been suspicious that Ya Pili was in fact a female.
Born in July 2003, Ya Pili had never been medically examined because she had been healthy- the animals are anaesthetised only when absolutely necessary."

Name that Drug
Apparently I am a social user of drugs. Hmmm, I suppose Nicotine and Alcohol are drugs, so I suppose they are right.
What level user are you when you take the test? Bet you're higher than me as I didn't know many of the answers at all.
I did get the Eric Clapton one though, not that it had much to do with drug taking.

Dog Shit
What a day!
Had one of those days that just flew over my head today.
Got into work and it just flew by (well busy with a deadline again! 3 weeks this time)
Then came home and did my bits before going down the pub.
Would you believe it?
When I got to the pub they were serving pints of Grolsch for just £2!
Now that was a result. Normally £2.80 but apparently people at the Farmers aren't drinking enough of the stuff.
I do try my hardest but can't drink for the whole pub.
They have to sell it within the week otherwise they have to throw it away.
So looks as though I will have to give them a hand ;-)
Then guess what?
I walk home and somebody is blaming my dog for shitting all over the road next to my place!
Sounds good to me apart from I don't have a dog.
This happened to me when I lived in the Flat, when a D*ck Head told me he would "Kill my Dogs if I wouldn't stop them from barking" at night.
Maybe I do need a dog just so I could justify these claims.
Anyway I took a couple of photo's of the sign they left, just for the crack (Lawyers).
Extended entry:
Bless them. Maybe they should redirect the sign to my 2 next door neighbours who actually have dogs! Oh and tell those fekkin dogs to stop shitting on our driveway :-)

Gamers
Anyone want to give me some advice?
I was thinking of getting a new computer so I could play the latest games (I bought one and it doesn't work in my computer!) and decided it was going to get a little expensive for a top of the range machine. So am now contemplating going for a games console instead. What the hell do I get? I was toying with the Playstation 3 which I can get for £342 from Amazon. (I get 17.5% off for VAT)
But reading up on it there seems to be a load of people saying Xbox 360 is better. Of course then there's the Wii.
Someone must have some good advice on this.

WWII Trophy tank
As many of you will know I am a bit of a World War II buff. I collect all things WWII if I can get my hands on it.
So I was a little jealous when I came across this story. Basically a few people got together and pulled a WWII tank out of a pond and it is in mint condition. It happened 7 years ago. Wonder what it looks like now they have done it up?
Anyway here is the story:
14 September 2000, a Komatsu D375A-2 pulled an abandoned tank from its archival tomb under the bottom of a lake near Johvi, Estonia. The Soviet-built T34/76A tank had been resting at the bottom of the lake for 56 years. According to its specifications, it’s a 27-tonne machine with a top speed of 53km/h.
From February to September 1944, heavy battles were fought in the narrow, 50 km-wide, Narva front in the north-eastern part of Estonia. Over 100,000 men were killed and 300,000 men were wounded there. During battles in the summer of 1944, the tank was captured from the Soviet army and used by the German army. (This is the reason that there are German markings painted on the tank’s exterior.) On 19 September 1944, German troops began an organised retreat along the Narva front. It is suspected that the tank was then purposefully driven into the lake, abandoning it when its captors left the area.
At that time, a local boy walking by the lake Kurtna Matasjarv noticed tank tracks leading into the lake, but not coming out anywhere. For two months he saw air bubbles emerging from the lake. This gave him reason to believe that there must be an armoured vehicle at the lake’s bottom. A few years ago, he told the story to the leader of the local war history club “Otsing”. Together with other club members, Mr Igor Shedunov initiated diving expeditions to the bottom of the lake about a year ago. At the depth of 7 metres they discovered the tank resting under a 3-metre layer of peat.
Enthusiasts from the club, under Mr Shedunov’s leadership, decided to pull the tank out. In September 2000 they turned to Mr Aleksander Borovkovthe, manager of the Narva open pit of the stock company AS Eesti Polevkivi, to rent the company’s Komatsu D375A-2 bulldozer. Currently used at the pit, the Komatsu dozer was manufactured in 1995, and has 19,000 operating hours without major repairs.
The pulling operation began at 09:00 and was concluded at 15:00, with several technical breaks. The weight of the tank, combined with the travel incline, made a pulling operation that required significant muscle. The D375A-2 handled the operation with power and style. The weight of the fully armed tank was around 30 tons, so the tractive force required to retrieve it was similar. A main requirement for the 68-tonne dozer was to have enough weight to prevent shoe-slip while moving up the hill.
After the tank surfaced, it turned out to be a ‘trophy’ tank, that had been captured by the German army in the course of the battle at Sinimaed (Blue Hills) about six weeks before it was sunk in the lake. Altogether, 116 shells were found on board. Remarkably, the tank was in good condition, with no rust, and all systems (except the engine) in working condition.
This is a very rare machine, especially considering that it fought both on the Russian and the German sides. Plans are under way to fully restore the tank. It will be displayed at a war history museum, that will be founded at the Gorodenko village on the left bank of the River Narva.
Looking at the two tracked machines, the modern yellow Komatsu dozer is a reminder of how machine technologies have advanced, and the region’s prospects of peace and prosperity have brightened.
There are photo's and 3 video's of it being recovered in the extended entry:

Preparing to pull it out.

People from the nearby village come to look how it would be done.

Komatsu D375A-2 is ready to go.

In mint condition.

Apparently, after a small repair and service they were able to start it’s diesel engine.

Here is the video footage of the event:

Let's get rich
The big draw is happening tonight. I am in two syndicates, so fingers crossed.
This is Jersey - News - 21/09/07 - Who wants to be a millionaire?
Who wants to be a millionaire?
SOMEBODY could become a millionaire tonight in the biggest lottery ever staged in the Island.
The Jersey Hospice Million Pound Lottery will be drawn at the Grand Jersey at around 6.20 pm and broadcast live during Channel Report.
The tickets cost 」300 and just 5,000 were printed, and they sold out within 12 days of going on sale.
Many of them went to syndicates, so the odds are high that the 」1 million first prize will go to a group of family, friends or work colleagues.
The four digits comprising the winning number will be chosen from four separate containers by four celebrities - singer Nerina Pallot, Mr Battle Kyran Bracken, his fellow Dancing on Ice star Clare Buckfield and TV presenter Gloria Hunniford.
Representatives from Gambling Control will monitor the draw to ensure that it is done fairly.

Normandy 2007
If you've wondered where I have been, I've been on my Holidays. Took some time out with some friends of ours, Ian and Ness.
We had a week off in Jersey before going over to France to see the Normandy landing beaches. What a good time I had. Even staying in Jersey was good fun. Went all round the coast, almost needed our passports when we got to Gorey. You're as good as in France there.
Took a load of photo's so you can see what we all got up to. I think on the whole we were all well behaved but I'm sure you can judge that for yourselves when you see the pictures.

Endangered species essay
Seems we aren't teaching our kids very much about conservation these days.
This essay was written by an 8th grader in Pittsburgh in the spring of 2004. The assignment was to pick an endangered species, and explain why it's important to save it. The typos and formatting are preserved from the original.
Richard XXXXXXXX Draft 2
I shouldn't do shit. I don't care about them they all
could die and it won't affect my life. I know a lot about them
but I don't need to think about them. They're just a waste of
time koalas are stupid they don't help me with shit so why
should I help them. If they all die there will be more room for
the panthers and all the other hard animals. Koalas are weak a
pit will get rid of their whole fucking family. That's why I
don't like koalas.
Koalas have sharp claws but they are weak. They all small
and fat and they be climing trees. I hope a storm just come
while theyjust chilling up in the tree thinking they is hard and
they're will all just fall off. They just break they neck and
shit. When they fall they claws are going to fall off and they
going to be crying like some little bitches.
Koalas aren't hard they some little bitches. They start
climbing up the tree soon as they see a deer from like 50feet
away. They stupid as hell they should put their brain in their
pouch and put the kid in they ten they're be able to think
better. They try to be in the fucking kangaroo family. They weak
as hell, talking bout they got a pouch a kangaroo so they their
cousins and shit. Kangaroo's have some big ass legs and whot do
a koala got? Some little ass legs, they tails is little and weak
as fuck kangaroo's got a big ass long tail that can kill a
fucking koala.
If a koala goes in the water it won't be able to breathe
with its little short ass. It'd fucking drown soon aas it take
one step into the water. While they at the river trying to get
something to drink a bear could just come to him and snatch its
ass up. It doesn't know protection because they don't have
protection. What they little ass going to do? It can't scratch
him. The bear will beat his fucking ass.
The important think about koalas is that just don't care
about tem and let them die by all the other animals in
Australia. They're not important just let nature do what it do
and kill them. Koalas do not have a place in this world there's
not enough room for all the bitches in this world. So let all
the koalas that's in the zoos and shit. Let them go and put them
back with their family. If you let them all go they won't
nothing except for that's what they was put in this world for.
Now you know why koalas aren't important. They have
nothing to do except for sitting around in the trees. It's like
they just was like they was sent have to die. Koalas don't do
nothing to help anybody. Thre would be just one more relative of
the kangaroo that will be six feet under. Now you know why
koalas are not important because there are dumb.

Jersey Beer Festival 2007

Who Hoooooo! Guess what I found out last night?
It's only going to be the Jersey Camra Beer Festival in 2 weeks time.
There will be over 130 different real ales varying in style from milds and stouts to bitters, there will also be real lagers and fruit beers. Also a large range of ciders and perries (made from pears) and continental beers and lagers.
I'm not the biggest fan of real ales but the continental lager part sounds good to me.
The festival is being held from the 6th to the 8th of September which just happens to be the weekend I start my holidays. Now you couldn't have timed it better if you tried.
Anyone fancy a few beers that weekend?

It is for Saturday and Sunday and also comes with a weekend shuttle coach ticket good for both days.
The Jersey live ticket would normally cost £75 and the weekend shuttle coach ticket would cost £10.
If anyone fancies it then let me know and make me an offer.
Remember it starts this weekend!

Cheffins

For some reason I wish I had seen that photo before we went out this Sunday for lunch.
We went to Cheffins in St Aubin.
Would you believe that we had to wait over an hour and a half before we got our starter? Even then some of us had finished whilst others were still waiting!
I must admit there wasn't anything wrong with the food when we finally got it though. In fact it was gorgeous but by the time I had been given my main course I had gone past the eating stage, so hardly touched it.
The manager told us he would only charge us for half the wine we had and we could have a free coffee or short.
Which I suppose was better than nothing but that still means I paid £28 for a starter and a few drinks.
I will think twice before I go there again that's for sure.

The Question is:
Do I buy him?

This gorgeous, well behaved, house-trained 2 year old boxer urgently needs a home preferably without any other animals (no cats) before 1st September.
Currently in foster-care he is extremely well behaved, has a loving, gentle nature and is good with children.
Oh and his name is George.

Band Daze
I told you it was going to be a day of photo's.
This time it is a bunch of photo's which I have just recently dug up from the past. I forgot I ever had these, they are from when I was in a band called Street Lethal. It was quite a heavy band, hence the long hair, ripped jeans and leather jackets.
Some of these photo's were taken by professionals and some were just taken for the fun of it. I'm sure you will be able to tell the difference.
Pop over to Flickr and have a look for yourselves.

Overdose on Coffee
So this girl had an overdose on Coffee huh?
Then she was sent to the Hospital too.
I say she's a light weight,
I had the same thing happen to me in France a few years ago.
All you need is a load of mates coming in to give you Coke (more caffeine) every couple of hours and then go on the piss the next day.
That's what I did. I have to confess that it was probably one of the worse days of my life though.
I think I should have been taken to Hospital really. At least I know I'm not the only person it has happened to.

Flickr Pro account frozen
Thanks to Rob I am now using movable type version 3.35. Not that any of you would know what that means anyway.
Am having a few issues with it but hopefully will be up and running normally soon. You may notice a few extra comments being made from some lovely spammers but that's about the only problem at the moment.
But seriously, thanks for sorting this out for me Robert. It must have taken you a while.
Now onto another issue: Flickr Pro
My Pro account has been frozen.
So I have only got a few photo's on the site now.
I can't believe the amount of hassle I have had trying to sort out the payment method with them.
And it's all over £12 ! ish.
The problem is quite simple really. They have an old card of mine from 5 years ago and they want me to give them the number and verification number of it, to add a new card. Oh and they have my old address too. Not La Pommeraie but an even older one, Le Sellier!
I can give them my old card number as I can remember it but I can't remember the verification number on the back.
Anyway I have been contacting them for a while now and as I said before my account has now been frozen.
This is where I start to do my moaning and groaning bit:
WHAT A FUCKING STUPID SYSTEM YAHOO AND FLICKR HAVE.
How fucking very dare you freeze my account.

Now they have told me it is going to take 3 more days to reply to my email.
I know exactly what it is going to say when I finally get the reply. It will say the same fekkin thing the last 2 replies said.
"We apologize for the inconvenience that this issue has caused you. To add additional cards to your Yahoo! Wallet go to http://wallet.yahoo.com."
If only I could actually speak to a human and not keep getting automated replies from a stupid computer.
I think I have moaned enough on this one for now.

Happy Birthday Tony
Just come back from a weekend in France (St Servan / St Malo) and finding it a little difficult to get back into the swing of things at work.
Not surprising after that weekend really.
Had a great time with everyone and wanted to say thanks to Tony for organising it.
Who's Birthday is it next?
You can find the photo's here if you fancy a look.
Since it's such a nice day today I can feel a pint coming up after work down the Mary's. I'm feeling in one of those moods. Oh and Happy Birthday Tony.

Anyone want some money?
I can't give my money away today!
I haven't got a clue what is going on but first I tried to renew my subscription for my Norton Anti virus and had so much hassle doing it I decided to get rid of it and download AVG instead. Now that is installed I can't check my emails anymore so am going to try and get a new Norton now.
Then I try to renew my Flickr pro account and they wont renew that until I give them my postcode. I gave them that and they say it doesn't match the one they have got on file!
So I tell them I have moved house and gave them the postcode to my old place and that still didn't match.
Next on the list was my office postcode and guess what? Yup, that didn't match their records either. So now I can't renew the Flickr account. Just great.
I didn't know it would be this difficult to spend my money.

Life's a Bitch
Just about got back to normal after the week away and now starting to sort out the weekend ahead. I'm a sucker for punishment I can tell you.
Saturday is going to be a good one. I seem to have two parties to go to at the moment, both of which are bound to be xlnt.
Then there's the Havre des Pas Festival on Sunday which should be a good laugh. Will almost seem as though we will be on Holiday as I don't often go down that part of Jersey out of work hours. I know that's going to end up a long day as I am doing the Thrift in the morning which means I have to get into the pub early :-)
Ah well, life's a bitch.

Water Rat's and bRat's 2007
What a week! Was a great time, thanks to everyone who was there. Feel as though I need a few days to recuperate but have to work. The boat was much better than we thought it would be in the end. In fact it was an excellent boat. Jamie's boat was absolute luxury I can tell you.
Only had a few mishaps on Holiday this year. One included fireworks, Tony P, Wall, hospital and stitches. Only one person fell in that I know of and that was Jim from the Water Rats.
Here are some of the photo's if you have a spare 30 minutes to flick through them.

House Spider
One of these gits is mucking with me.

Anyone who knows me, knows I don't get on with any animal with more than 4 legs.
So when I get in the car last night, hands full of files and I see one of these on my shoulder, you know what's going to happen.
I fukken lost it big style. Files everywhere, car bouncing up and down and some mad man shouting his head off. Luckily the car park was empty but I'm sure Jerry must have heard me.
Driving home last night was a nightmare. The little git was obviously still in my car somewhere and I didn't know where he was. I was scratching all over the place and even slapping the top of my head all the way home.
I thought I would have been a little better this morning on the way into work, but no, I'm still trying to brush the git off me.
Then I think to myself; Only a few days time and I wont have to use my car for a while, so hopefully it will be dead by the time I have to get in there again.
Stupid me looks up on the Internet and finds that they live for several fukken years! Arrrrggghhhh.
I need to get a new car.

Pork pies
Well that was a bit of a heavy weekend.
Twatted, twatted then twatted just about sums up my weekend.
Jon and Dons wedding was a great day.
I even beat the Beav at our pissed pool match!
Oh then I beat him up after that too :-)
You gotta send me a picture Beav.
A question for you.
When you eat a pork pie, what would you have with it?
Brown sauce, mustard, Branston pickle or something else?
Just curious really, it was brought up at the wedding. Long story.

But before we leave I seem to have a load of Birthdays in the next 2 weeks.
Too many parties! There's a 27th, 30th, 40th, 60th and 69th. Think I am going to need a holiday after that lot!

Mobile down
Have been cut off on my mobile for a week and finally back on now. If any of you have sent me a text recently and think I have been out of order not replying then I apologise.
It seems I wont ever receive them. I know some people have sent some, I wonder if they get charged for them?
Anyway back on-line now :-)
It's strange not having a mobile I can tell you.

Global Colding
Getting bored of this weather now. I thought it was meant to be global warming. It's wet, windy and not exactly warm where I am.
Hey , maybe it will cheer up for the weekend. I hope so 'cos I've got a hundred and one things to do and that's including Jonbin and Dindon's Wedding! Think I may get a hangover this weekend for some reason.

Stags away
What the f*ck is happening to the weather at the moment? A few weeks ago I was sitting on top of a fan at work and now I have got the heater out again!
Never mind, I know something that is going to warm me up and that's Jonbin's stag do tonight. We are going to have quite a long session I would imagine. Starting at 6pm and finishing at (well actually I don't know) late ish I would think.
The dangerous bit about it is, I will probably be on the Breda! Now everybody knows what I am like on the Breda. Either I am breaking my ribs or bull fighting in the car park at the end of the night. Wonder what happens to me tonight?
Beav and I are going to have our infamous game of pool after we have made sure we can't focus on anything. So that game should take a few hours. I could even walk away with Beav's car if I win ;-)
Roll on 5pm I say.

Esau Wood
Esau Wood is the name of the character in this tongue-twister:
Esau Wood sawed wood. Esau Wood would saw wood. All the wood Esau Wood saw, Esau Wood would saw. In other words, all the wood Esau saw to saw, Esau sought to saw. Oh, the wood Wood would saw! And, oh the wood-saw with which Wood would saw wood! But one day, Wood's wood-saw would saw no wood, and thus the wood Wood sawed was not the wood Wood would saw if Wood's wood-saw would saw wood. Now, Wood would saw wood with a wood-saw that would saw wood, so Esau sought a saw that would saw wood. One day, Esau saw a saw saw wood as no other wood-saw Wood saw would saw wood. In fact, of all the wood-saws Wood ever saw saw wood, Wood never saw a wood-saw that would saw wood as the wood-saw Wood saw saw wood would saw wood, and I never saw a wood-saw that would saw as the wood-saw Wood saw would saw until I saw Esau Wood saw wood with the wood-saw Wood saw saw wood. Now Wood saws wood with the wood-saw Wood saw saw wood.
I kinda got lost ¾ of the way through, not bad I suppose.
Bet nobody can memorise this!
You can read about this tongue-twister here.

Fan's out
Today must be the first day of summer. Not only is it the first day I have had to get the fan out to cool down but I got a nice surprise in the post too. My Income tax bill! Why was it so good getting my Income tax bill? Because it decreased by 5%. About bleedin' time. That's a first for me.

Summer Solstice
Now this sounds like a plan.
"To mark the longest day of the year, the Jersey Arts Centre has programmed an evening filled with drumming and dance music performed by the Gambia Beat Band, sand castle building, the burning of a giant wicker man and a spectacular fire display. Bring a picnic or enjoy a bite to eat from the beach cafe. It will take place at Greve de Lecq, St. Ouen between 8-10pm and will be free."
Ok, I may not be into the sand castle bit but there are 2 pubs down there as well.

Classic Pose
What have we done to deserve all this sunshine? It was a blinder of a weekend and now we are back at work it has clouded over. Normally happens the other way round doesn't it?
Have just been going through the photo's I took this weekend and came across this one.
It's a photo of Amy, one of my God daughters. Doesn't look as though she is enjoying the sun or was it just Robert's hat annoying her! One thing is for sure, she isn't impressed. Bless.

Beer contains female hormones
Last month, National University of Lesotho scientists released the results of a recent analysis that revealed the presence of female hormones in beer.
Men should take a concerned look at their beer consumption. The theory is that beer contains female hormones (hops contain phytoestrogens) and that by drinking enough beer, men turn into women.
To test the theory, 100 men drank 8 pints of beer each within a 1 hour period It was then observed that 100% of the test subjects:
1) Argued over nothing.
2) Refused to apologise when obviously wrong.
3) Gained weight.
4) Talked excessively without making sense.
5) Became overly emotional.
6) Couldn't drive.
7) Failed to think rationally.
8) Had to sit down while urinating.
No further testing was considered necessary.

St Servan
Went away on Saturday for a belated Birthday meal with 5 other people. Had a bleedin' xlnt time thanks guys.
The sun was shining and the sea was as calm as it can be too.
Got on the boat about 9am and had our first beer at about 9:15am which went straight to my head. (Topping up from the night before)
Then got to France 11:30am ish and headed off to St Servan. What a lovely little town. We normaly go to St Malo (walled part) but thought we would try something different this time. Glad we did.
The first bar we came to was the Bar de la Plage. Huge beers for 5.60 euro's each, we always find the beer expensive over in France but what the hell. Stopping at that place was worth it just to see Mandy get shat on by a seagull :-)
The restaurant we went to was called L'Atre, we were lucky enough to have got an outside table too. The food I had was superb and the price was good too. It worked out at about £25-30 per head and we had 5 courses! That is including the wine, beer, calvados and coffee's etc etc.
Then after the meal we basically just went round finding bars and getting burnt. Long story but if you look at these photo's it should explain it all a little easier.
Thanks to you guys again for a great day out. So when is the next trip planned :-)

Jokes I laugh out loud at
Here are the 2 jokes that actually make me laugh out loud.
The first one made me laugh out loud for 4.683 seconds:
Three kids come down to the kitchen and sit around the breakfast table.
The Mother asks the oldest boy what he’d like to eat.
"I’ll have some fuckin’ French toast," he says.
The Mother is outraged at his language, hits him, and sends him upstairs.
She asks the middle child what he wants.
"Well, I guess that leaves more fuckin’ French toast for me," he says.
She is livid, smacks him, and sends him away.
Finally she asks the youngest son what he wants for breakfast.
"I don’t know," he says meekly, "but I definitely don’t want the fuckin’ French toast."
This one made me laugh out loud for 3.791 seconds:
Saul is working in his store when he hears a booming voice from above:
"Saul, sell your business."
He ignores it. It goes on for days.
"Saul, sell your business for $3 million."
After weeks of this, he relents, sells his store.
The voice says "Saul, go to Las Vegas."
He asks why?
"Saul, take the $3 million to Las Vegas."
He obeys, goes to a casino.
Voice says, "Saul, go to the blackjack table and put it down all on one hand."
He hesitates but knows he must. He’s dealt an 18. The dealer has a six showing.
"Saul, take a card." What? The dealer has -- "Take a card!"
He tells the dealer to hit him. Saul gets an ace. Nineteen. He breathes easy.
"Saul, take another card." What? "TAKE ANOTHER CARD!" He asks for another card.
It’s another ace. He has twenty.
"Saul, take another card," the voice commands. I have twenty! Saul shouts.
"TAKE ANOTHER CARD!!" booms the voice.
Hit me,Saul says. He gets another ace. Twenty one. The booming voice goes:
"un-fucking-believable!"
Hope they made you laugh as much as I did (about 8.474 seconds actually)

Publican of the Year
I've got to congratulate Lee who is the manager of La Forge Bar in St Ouen for winning the Publican of the Year 2007 in Jersey. I must admit I have been drinking up there a good few times recently and I think he has done a great job with the place. I was there when he was being interviewed for the Publican of the Year and the place was packed to the rafters.
I'm not too sure what is going to happen with the bar in the future though as an application has been approved to change the whole lot into lodging accommodation. Seems such a shame that a small local free house is going to be closed down for lodging.
Seems to happen to me everywhere I drink.
The Bel Tabarin was knocked down and returned to nature. (Better than lodging accommodation I must admit)
The Stable Bar is now 2 houses.
The Fisherman's Wharf which I went to after the Stable Bar closed is now 8 Houses and a number of Flats.
Watch out The Mary's and The Farmer's, would be a great shame if we lost them to more housing!

Naughty me
Don't know what just happened but here I was sitting at my computer working away and the next thing I know was I was puffing away on a cigarette. (I quickly ran outside to finish it)
Not a good thing considering it is now illegal to smoke at work. I have done that a few times in the pub as well since the ban came in. Hopefully I will get used to it by the end of the year.

Passport
I have finally received my passport in the post this morning. At last I'm not a prisoner anymore. It felt quite strange not being able to go anywhere for a few weeks. Not that I would have done but at least I would have had the option.
The new passport even looks like me and not some headbanger that just fell out of a pub anymore.
Now I need to get off the rock as soon as possible. France seems to be at the top of the list for some reason.

Neighbours Going
The BBC have decided to lose Neighbours today. They said that £300,000,000.00 for an eight year contract was too much. I agree, good riddance.
Now let's see if they will get rid of EastEnders next.
Mwuahahahahahahaha.

Aussie Floyd
Another good weekend is now over and work has begun (a full week at that too!)
Went to see Aussie Pink Floyd on Saturday night at Fort Regent. It was a belter of a gig. The musicians were xlnt as were the backing vocalists. The only thing I didn't like was the lead singer who kinda let the side down a little. He was a new addition to the line up so maybe he just needs to do a few more gigs and he will settle in ok.
The lighting was really good too. They had the biggest mirror ball I have ever seen, it must have been 3-4 feet in diameter. Made my mirror ball look like a pea.
They also had a 25 foot inflatable kangaroo which suddenly appeared at the back of the stage dancing around.

If they come back to Jersey next year (which they said they would) I would definitely recommend anyone to go and check them out. I'm sure you will have a great time.
I've put a couple of short clips of the gig in the extended entry, just so you can see the mirror ball and lasers. They aren't great as I have had to reduce the file sizes quite a bit.
Big fekkin' mirror ball:
