Stags away

What the f*ck is happening to the weather at the moment? A few weeks ago I was sitting on top of a fan at work and now I have got the heater out again!
Never mind, I know something that is going to warm me up and that's Jonbin's stag do tonight. We are going to have quite a long session I would imagine. Starting at 6pm and finishing at (well actually I don't know) late ish I would think.
The dangerous bit about it is, I will probably be on the Breda! Now everybody knows what I am like on the Breda. Either I am breaking my ribs or bull fighting in the car park at the end of the night. Wonder what happens to me tonight?
Beav and I are going to have our infamous game of pool after we have made sure we can't focus on anything. So that game should take a few hours. I could even walk away with Beav's car if I win ;-)
Roll on 5pm I say.

Esau Wood

Esau Wood is the name of the character in this tongue-twister:

Esau Wood sawed wood. Esau Wood would saw wood. All the wood Esau Wood saw, Esau Wood would saw. In other words, all the wood Esau saw to saw, Esau sought to saw. Oh, the wood Wood would saw! And, oh the wood-saw with which Wood would saw wood! But one day, Wood's wood-saw would saw no wood, and thus the wood Wood sawed was not the wood Wood would saw if Wood's wood-saw would saw wood. Now, Wood would saw wood with a wood-saw that would saw wood, so Esau sought a saw that would saw wood. One day, Esau saw a saw saw wood as no other wood-saw Wood saw would saw wood. In fact, of all the wood-saws Wood ever saw saw wood, Wood never saw a wood-saw that would saw wood as the wood-saw Wood saw saw wood would saw wood, and I never saw a wood-saw that would saw as the wood-saw Wood saw would saw until I saw Esau Wood saw wood with the wood-saw Wood saw saw wood. Now Wood saws wood with the wood-saw Wood saw saw wood.

I kinda got lost ¾ of the way through, not bad I suppose.
Bet nobody can memorise this!

You can read about this tongue-twister here.

Fan's out

Today must be the first day of summer. Not only is it the first day I have had to get the fan out to cool down but I got a nice surprise in the post too. My Income tax bill! Why was it so good getting my Income tax bill? Because it decreased by 5%. About bleedin' time. That's a first for me.

Summer Solstice

Now this sounds like a plan.

"To mark the longest day of the year, the Jersey Arts Centre has programmed an evening filled with drumming and dance music performed by the Gambia Beat Band, sand castle building, the burning of a giant wicker man and a spectacular fire display. Bring a picnic or enjoy a bite to eat from the beach cafe. It will take place at Greve de Lecq, St. Ouen between 8-10pm and will be free."

Ok, I may not be into the sand castle bit but there are 2 pubs down there as well.

Classic Pose

What have we done to deserve all this sunshine? It was a blinder of a weekend and now we are back at work it has clouded over. Normally happens the other way round doesn't it?
Have just been going through the photo's I took this weekend and came across this one.

It's a photo of Amy, one of my God daughters. Doesn't look as though she is enjoying the sun or was it just Robert's hat annoying her! One thing is for sure, she isn't impressed. Bless.

Beer contains female hormones

Last month, National University of Lesotho scientists released the results of a recent analysis that revealed the presence of female hormones in beer.

Men should take a concerned look at their beer consumption. The theory is that beer contains female hormones (hops contain phytoestrogens) and that by drinking enough beer, men turn into women.

To test the theory, 100 men drank 8 pints of beer each within a 1 hour period It was then observed that 100% of the test subjects:

1) Argued over nothing.

2) Refused to apologise when obviously wrong.

3) Gained weight.

4) Talked excessively without making sense.

5) Became overly emotional.

6) Couldn't drive.

7) Failed to think rationally.

8) Had to sit down while urinating.

No further testing was considered necessary.

St Servan

Went away on Saturday for a belated Birthday meal with 5 other people. Had a bleedin' xlnt time thanks guys.
The sun was shining and the sea was as calm as it can be too.
Got on the boat about 9am and had our first beer at about 9:15am which went straight to my head. (Topping up from the night before)
Then got to France 11:30am ish and headed off to St Servan. What a lovely little town. We normaly go to St Malo (walled part) but thought we would try something different this time. Glad we did.
The first bar we came to was the Bar de la Plage. Huge beers for 5.60 euro's each, we always find the beer expensive over in France but what the hell. Stopping at that place was worth it just to see Mandy get shat on by a seagull :-)
The restaurant we went to was called L'Atre, we were lucky enough to have got an outside table too. The food I had was superb and the price was good too. It worked out at about £25-30 per head and we had 5 courses! That is including the wine, beer, calvados and coffee's etc etc.
Then after the meal we basically just went round finding bars and getting burnt. Long story but if you look at these photo's it should explain it all a little easier.
Thanks to you guys again for a great day out. So when is the next trip planned :-)
