Bulk Buying

I seem to have a problem when it comes to buying stuff on the Internet. What with the Lighters yesterday and now my Toothpaste has arrived. All 20 tubes of 'em. This lot should keep me going for a while.

.

What to buy next? Hmmmm!

Lighters.

Looks like I wont need to buy any lighters for the next year or two!

It was bugging me, so much, that I could never find one or people would pinch them from me, so I decided to go onto eBay. A few clicks and a couple of days later and I am the proud owner of 50 of the blighters.
Wonder how long they will last me?

Cam Hacking

Just saw a video on the Internet that was pretty worrying for those of you that have webcams. You can hack into them and control other peoples cams from your computer.
All you need to do is search for it using google.

Search for:
liveapplet
or
inurl:ViewerFrame?Mode=Refresh

There are loads of different search terms for these too!
You would have thought it would be a little safer than that!
I will probably get arrested for putting this up on the Internet now, knowing my luck :-)

Kiss Boots for sale

I really hope I don't get too pissed in the next few days.
Look what I've seen on eBay.
That link won't work forever so here it is on my site for future visitors.

Buying Software

It doesn't half hurt when I have to buy software for my job.
I have to upgrade my old Autocad because Autodesk like to change file formats through the years and now I seem to be having problems opening engineers and other Architects drawings.
It's going to cost me £4,045 for the software and a mandatory subscription for the 1st Year of £495. All that for a couple of c.d's!
O.K I don't have to pay for it out of my own pocket but it still stinks. All because of a file format change. Go Autodesk.
Now to go and tell my partner to see if we can afford it.

House Instructions

Why is it, when you buy an electrical item you get an instruction leaflet with them but when you buy a House you don't?
I have had 2 Houses now and wished they both came with instructions.
When I buy a House I need to know how to use the Ovens, Washing Machines, Water Heating etc etc.
For instance, in the Conservatory of the new House, there is supposed to be under floor heating. The amount of trouble I have had trying to get it to work is unbelievable. I have now found out, through trial and error, how to actually turn it on. It has taken me a month to finally sus it out.
There are actually 4 switches for the bloody thing. All of them need to be on for it to work. One of them was found outside in a cupboard too!
This weekend I had a couple of friends round for a meal, so I thought I would put the heating on a day or so before they came to make sure it was warm for the night. Guess what? It didn't get warm at all. So a few hours before they were due, I had to put a couple of heaters in there. Luckily enough they seemed to work.
I was banging my head against a brick wall for ages until I remembered a light switch on the wall that didn't seem to turn any lights on. I flicked that to on last night and hey presto, it was 21°C this morning.
So looks like I will be nice and warm this winter now :-)
If only there was a law stating, when you buy a house the seller has to give the purchaser an hour or so to go through the ins and outs of the running of the property. Now wouldn't that be a good idea?

I'm over 70

Well I wish I was this year. It seems that David Kirch (A millionaire in Jersey) is giving anyone aged 70 or over, that lives in Jersey, £100 for Christmas. What a nice man.

It seems that Jersey is being really generous today. Radio 2 are raising money for "Children in Need" and are taking money from people who would like their name mentioned on air. So far about 10 people from Jersey have been mentioned.
Does this mean we are just very nice people or loaded?

I think it is probably that we are just nice :-) 'cos most of the people I know are skint.

Colour #CEBD9C

I think I will keep this new scheme. It's a little easier on the eyes and I haven't got the patience to do any more work on it.
Now I'm going home for a slap up Chinese meal and a few bottles of wine.

Colours

I am sick of the colours on my site. There you go I said it.
So I am going to muck about for the next few days and see what changes I can make. It wont be too drastic as I will be keeping the black background. Only because I have to.
I hope I don't make any of you guys blind in the meantime.

Exercise

Strangely for a Monday morning I am feeling on top of the world (I can feel a song coming on). I haven't got a clue why, as I was out last night on a bit of a session. Well, actually I was out all weekend on a bit of a session. Maybe it's because I live 1½ miles from the pub now, which means I have walked over 9 miles this weekend. I am actually getting some exercise! Might not sound a lot to you lot but believe me it's loads for me.

On a different note, in the early hours of this morning, somebody crashed a car just outside my local pub and killed himself! I hate it when things happen like that. Especially when it is so close to home. They haven't released any names yet, I just hope it isn't someone I know. The problem is that somebody knows them and they are going to be going through so much pain at the moment. My thoughts are with them. The junction where he crashed is well known as an accident black spot. If only everyone would just go a little slower!

Competition 11

Camera's on the ready..........!
I was getting a little bored of doing games for competitions and was wanting to get you lot to show me your photography talents again.
I was first thinking of making the competition a "Macro" (Close up) competition. Maybe something like Insects or Plants.
I then thought that a few of you may be using your phones to take the pictures and it wouldn't be fair with others having really good camera's.
So I thought it would be better having a theme of just animals. Maybe still do macro's of insects but you can also do photo's of any type you like.

For example:

At the Zoo
Gorilla
Horse
Cat
Dog

Hope these examples show you what I mean.

One thing I don't want you to do though, is use photo's that you have already taken. Like mine or Robs. I want you to take the photo's especially for this competition.

You have 2 weeks to get taking photo's before you have to have them in. The closing date will be the 27th November 2006. All photo's must be in by midnight that day.

You can send in up to 3 photo's each.

The photo's will be uploaded onto my website for you all to vote on. You all have 3 votes. Vote for your top 3 favourite photo's. (Similar to the voting we had on Comp 6)

Also the competition isn't for the best quality photo but for the best photo. So it should be fairer for those who haven't got good camera's.

As usual I will award 3 points to 1st, 2 points to 2nd, 1 point to 3rd and -1 point to last place.

Hope this all makes sense. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments for all to see.

Happy snapping, looking forward to seeing your photo's.

Fin de Semaine

At last I can feel the weekend coming to a start. Has been a bitch of a week at work so really need to get away and have a laugh. Steve Wright is getting me in the mood at the moment playing some great tunes (as he does sometimes) just had a blast of Zeppelin, Hendrix, Neil young and Deep Purple. That has helped me a little. Now to finish off here and go and get a few beers down my neck. Enjoy the weekend.

Comp 10

Sorry for the delay but have been well busy the last few days.
Anyway, the results for competition 10 are as follows:

First place with 2640 is Ani (3 points)
Second place with 2145 is Beav (2 points)
Third place with 2043 is Markiss (1 point)

I only received 3 entries for this and they were as follows:

First place with -40 is Ani (extra point)

Well done Ani you did really well on that comp. (4 bloody points!)

Water Rat's 2007

For those of you who are thinking about going on the Water Rats next year, you had better start thinking about booking your boat soon.
The 2007 tour will start on the 21st July and will be on the Southern Broads this year.
They haven't released the Itinerary yet but I will post it up here as soon as I get hold of it.
It will most likely start in Brundall, so try and book your boat from there. If you can't get the boat you want from there then try these other places:
Loddon,
St Olaves,
Norwich,
Reedham.
If you need any other information or even need some help in finding and booking a boat, then get in touch with me and I will see what I can do for you.

Double Broadband

It's always nice when something you have been subscribing to for a long time suddenly goes down in price, isn't it? Doesn't happen very often but it has happened with my broadband service, Newtel Solutions. Not only has the monthly price gone down from £23.49 to £16.99 (a saving of £6.50 a month) but it is also doubling the speed to 2048K. They are also maintaining unlimited access broadband unlike Jersey Telecom. This all starts in December, apparently, so will be keeping a close eye on what actually happens.
A good start to my day I think.

Line Rider

I've been mucking about with Line Rider for a while now. It's well addictive, just a shame there isn't an easy way to save the runs you draw. It would have made a great competition.
Does anyone know if there is a way to save them?
