Theme for Comp 2
Ok here goes:
The theme for competition 2 will be "Music".
I will leave it up to you exactly what you paint but it should have something to do with music.
Once you have finished your painting please send me the link to it. The instructions to do so are in this post. If you have any problems then please leave a comment or email me.
The end of the comp will be Monday 6th March.
To find the winner, we will have a vote on your favourite top 3 entries.
Each player has 3 votes. You will have to email your favourite 3 to me in this format:
1st favourite = Bungle
2nd favourite = Zippy
3rd favourite = George
(You can't vote for yourself)
This should be a laugh!

Comp 2
How are you at painting? Any budding artists amongst us? Well here is your chance to show us how good or bad you are. I will let you guys practice for a bit before I give you the rules for the game though. Basically I will give you a theme and you will have to paint that theme. Anyway you see fit. We will vote on the winner at the end of the competition.
You can find the art site here.
Just muck about with all the bits and pieces and get to grips with it.
You will need to sus out how to send me your entries too.
Here is how you do it:
Go to Save & Send and click "if you'd rather not send this painting to your friends but would like a link anyway, click here".
Once you have done that you will have to copy the address and email me the link. Got it? Any problems let me know.
Here is a sample url I just did http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?iv1hwkl8hj0

Scary Maze Kid
If you played the maze I put up the other day, you will know that it has a scary ending.
Well just look at how this kid reacts to it. Kinda cruel I think. He will be having nightmares for the rest of his life.

St Mary's Mascot
Should be an interesting evening tonight. I am expecting a delivery! I'm actually looking forward to it but I don't think the two cats are. The delivery is coming in the form of a dog. Benny, the St Mary's Mascot, to be precise. He is quite a lively dog and one of the cats called Leo has never met a dog in his life before. This cat jumps at his own shadow so God knows what is going to happen.
In all that comotion I am going to try and eat my Chinese takeaway and cook myself a bean crock. Looks like an early shift down the pub I reckon. Wish me luck :-)

Maze
This maze is just brilliant. A bit boring to begin with but really good at the end. I found it hard with no sound on, so put your sound on to help you with the last levels. Bet you get well frustrated with it. I did!

What's going on with Radio 1 today? In the last half hour we have had Iron Maiden and now Led Zeppelin. Well impressed.

First Competition
Ok then. I have been thinking about the first competition.
I know some of you have played it before and some of you may not have but it is a good one.
It's called Stair Dismount.
You need to download the game from here. Just choose your operating System.
Have a practice for a few days. Keep updating the comments with your highest scores yet, so we can see how you are doing. Maybe you will be willing to share your techniques with other players? Maybe you will just be plain nasty and keep them a secret for yourself. I want you to send me a screen shot of your highest score of all by the end of the competition. Which will be in 2 weeks. That gives you all loads of time to sus it out. So the end date will be on the 20th February 2006. Any questions just ask. Points will be awarded for first, second and third places. Points will be deducted for last place. Remember you don't have to enter if you don't want to. That way you could force someone to loose points by making them last! See my extended entry for this post for some help.
Stair Dismount - Porrasturvat is a stair stunt game.
The legendary superhero Spector has found, to his shock, that he cannot write off all the damage he has caused to the city out of his taxes unless he proves that he has sustained significant damage in the process himself! Now it's up to you to 'help' him with this little detail.
Usage
1. Select the body part which you wish to push, by clicking on the damage diagram on the bottom left side of the screen.
2. Depress left mouse button and drag sideways and up and down to select the angle of the push.
3. Pay close attention to the pulsing power bar, and click on 'dismount' when it shows the force that you wish to use for the push.
Keys
Alt-Enter Switch between window and fullscreen
Space Dismount / Reset
Q Select previous body part
W Select next body part
R Replay (when dismount is finished)
P Pause
Ctrl-P Step the time a little bit forward when paused
C Next camera viewpoint
E Reset pitch and heading
S Turn score view on/off
M Manual camera (hold the key)
Ctrl-F Enable/Disable fog (disabled by default, see notes)
Ctrl-M Turn music on/off
Ctrl-S Turn sound effects on/off
0-9 Hotkeys for the camera viewpoints
Arrow keys Finetune heading & pitch (see notes)
Escape Quit the game

IE 7 Beta
Even more beta testing coming up.
Did you know you can now try out Microsoft's Windows Internet Explorer 7?
I haven't tried it yet but will be giving it a go over the weekend.
Bet it has loads of similar stuff to Firefox on it.
Anyway, why not give it a go yourself.
