Dangerous

Now this is what I call dangerous.

Can you imagine riding home after a few drinks along here?
I would definitely go into the canal every night.

Oh no!

Piglet and Tigger are dead........
Well the two men who did their voices in Winnie the Pooh have died. Not only that, they both died in the same week!
Paul Winchell (82 years old) who voiced Tigger died on the 23rd of June and John Fiedler (80 years old) who voiced Piglet died on the 25th of June.
What a sad week. I used to love Winnie the Pooh as a kid.
Now if that's not an excuse to have a drink then I'm a tea total.

Feeds

Now most of you, who get feeds from this site, will realise that I have been changing a few things round here. I have now changed my settings for my feed, so you guys don't have to. Isn't that nice of me? Anyway a big thanks to Rob for helping me out big time and for setting me up on his server too.
I will have to see if I get spammed, like him and his Sister have in the past, fingers crossed I don't.
I do have another life other than doing my blog believe it or not. Tonight I am going to leave all this alone and watch a movie I think!
I have a box of wine and have just got the film "White Noise". It is meant to be a bit of an "edge of your seat job" but the wine should sort all of that out.

T-Shirts

I really need to get my arse into gear regarding the T-Shirts for the Jersey bRats. I have just realised that there is only a few weeks to go! Looks like we are going to have the normal design again! I will try my hardest though. C.R.A.F.T.

Site Changes

Don't know if any of you had actually realised but I have been doing quite a few changes round here. I have totally moved my site from my company website. That site is now dead. KAHPUTT.....
My new url is now www.markiss.co.uk/blog So for any of you linking to me via my mldoddandsons.com address that will not be working anymore.
I have loads more to work on which will be sorted over time. Don't know how long it will take me but rest assured it will be done. I haven't changed any of the colours to my site as there is a good reason for them. It's called camouflage you know :-)
Anyway, I shall get the shoutbox up soon. Anything else that I can think of will go up as and when I remember them. If you find any dead links etc I would love to know about them. You can mail me at the normal address (markiss at markiss dot co dot uk}.
The only thing that I don't expect to sort out is the old comments being brought back from the old posts. Shame really, the only way I can think of doing it is by copying and pasting each and every one! May do it sometime when I am well bored (pissed)

Spending Spree

Seems I have decided to go on a spending spree. Today I got a new mobile phone. Had been thinking about which one to get for ages and last night Rob mentioned to me about the Motorola Razr V3 Black. I decided to take a look and realised it has everything I wanted in a phone. So have just popped into town to get one. I have got to say that it certainly has the looks, very sexy indeed. Now all I need to do is use it and see if it is as good as it looks. Also I have just brought all the series of Curb Your Enthusiasm on dvd. If you haven't seen it yet, I would recommend it big time. It's basically very true to life comedy. Go on.... Treat yourselves. I did :-)

Definitely Spam

I seem to be going through one of those spam flux stages this past month. More and more is entering my junk folder. The weird thing is, most of the spam emails I am getting actually say they are spam. The subject lines are saying things like "This is Spam" or "Definitely Spam". So what's the crack with that? Do they think if they state it is spam we will actually read it? The mind boggles.

Ah Well

It's over now. My long weekend that is. Had a really good one too. Had a party on Friday night which was xlnt. Wont go into details but I think everyone there enjoyed themselves as much as me. Had a stonker headache the next day, I can tell you. It was worth it though. A few people had their mobile phones with them and took some hilarious video, if I get hold of some I will put some of it up for you to see :-) I just need to get myself a half decent phone now, so I can get hold of it. Still haven't got a clue which one I want. Am now looking at the Nokia 6230i, anyone ever used one of those? Would love to know what it is like. On another note, I have just received some more bills for the operation I had a few weeks ago. They amount to £1200 now. For those of you who actually read this blog, you will know the hastle I went through with my insurers to get them to pay the last bills, so it should be quite interesting to see what they do with this little lot. Stay tuned, no doubt I will keep you informed :-) Now back to normality, work to do and the Internet to explore. Have a nice day............

Too Hot

This weekend has been far too hot for me. Right now while I am writting this it is 30.7°C according to the Jersey Met Office. What a day to pick to change a wheel on the car and do the rest of my chores. Think I may leave it until night time. Hope you're all having the same weather today, it's about time summer finally stuck his head around the corner, being the middle of June and all.

Virtual Reality

Derren Brown scares the crap out of a poor pub-going bloke, by setting the living dead on him. As you do..... Virtual reality at it's best. Can you imagine this happening to you? Excellent! May take a while to load if your aren't on broadband. Living Dead Game

Lovely Friday

Since I am in a good mood and it's Friday. I'll give you guys a treat. Not much of a treat but still it's free. Listen to tons of CD's for free online. Um, is this legal? Who cares? Is there a way of downloading them? Album Directory

Slacker

I can't believe my last post was on Friday! What a slacker. Well not really, I do have another life too :-) Work has been really getting to me the last couple of months and has been especially bad this week. I am being forced into running these jobs off in record time. Working all hours of the day. Infact I shouldn't really be doing this post. But stuff it! It's my company, so I can take what time I want off. So what have I been doing in my spare time? Not much really. Thrift Club meeting on Monday Night. Trying to sus out the T-Shirt for the Jersey bRats. Am working with C.R.A.F.T at the moment. (Can't Remember A Fucking Thing) quite catchy I reckon. Since my spare time is lacking considerably recently, I have even employed a cleaner to do the housework! Sounds a bit posh but I really don't get that much time to myself and when I do, I would rather not be cleaning. (Rather be down the pub with a pint in my hand) Talking of pints and pubs. I will be down tonight to do the quiz and maybe a little earlier than normal. I have the next 5 days all to myself as GF has gone away. So I can feel a few drinking sessions coming on :-) Now for a link to click on. I know you like them really. The first is a link to a mate of mines new Restaurant. It's called Casa Madeira, I haven't been invited down there yet but he may now I have put a link on my site! You never know. DO YOU JOE? This I found quite amusing. A Guy gets his mobile phone pinched and the Thief uploaded a photo of himself to the guys Web account. What a prick.

Funky Pong

Since it is Friday afternoon, still sunny and I have now stopped designing Urinals! I thought I would annoy you with yet another game. This one is straight forward. You have a ping pong ball and bat and you have to see how many times you can bounce the ball. There is a little twist to the rules though. What I want you to do is try it out when you are sober, write down your best score in the comments. Then when you get back from drinking in the evening try it again and see what the best score is then. My best score is 14 whilst sober. I'll give it another try later tonight and see what I can manage then. Go on, have a go at Funky Pong.

French Police Dogs

Tip: If you ever go over to France on your hols don't break the law. Otherwise you may get a nasty K9 hot on your heels. You've gotta watch this video clip of French Police Dog training. These dogs are amazing and a little sadistic.

Kisses

Aren't gents urinals really boring places? I say that because designing them has got to be one of the most boring parts of my job. Well that could all change pretty soon. All I need to do is find a client who would be willing to use these little gems called Kisses!. What a great idea :-)

1000 Bars

Now doesn't that sound like a nice title? There is this guy in the USA who has decided to drink in a 1000 bars this year. He started on January 1st 2005 and has so far drank in no less than 544 and has got 456 to go. Can't wait until I'm retired, that sounds like just the thing I would like to do. Anyway, you can keep up with him on his website called 1000 Bars. I wish him all the luck, not that he needs it mind, he seems to be doing an excellent job at the moment. Go Beer Man!

Dan the Man

Congratulations to Dan for winning the A.E.C. 6 bids and £1.20 for his item. Not bad at all mate. Now comes the fun part. All of you who had bids on their items now have to send "Dan the Man" his winnings :-) They are: Rob with £0.30 Lemurgirl with £0.99 Jodie with £0.99 Jeremy with £0.01

Total with Dan's money is £3.49. That's a pint and 2 packets of crisps mate!
Could you let me know your Paypal info for people to send you the money please Dan. (Is that the best way to do it?)

Now for the maths.
Let's take a look at a few:

Jeremy paid £0.15 to show his auction and made £0.01. Loss of £0.14.
Rob paid a little more as his auction was listed in 2 cats. It cost him £0.30 to show his auction and made £0.30. Cut it even.
Jodie had 2 photo's so that cost £0.30 and made £0.99. Profit of £0.69.
Lemurgirl item to list was £0.15 and made £0.99. Profit of £0.84.
Beav and myself both paid £0.15 to show the items and got sweet F.A. Loss of £0.15 each.

Now the really sad parts.

eBay "Final Value Fee":
Item not sold - No Fee
Item sold between £0.01 - £29.99 cost 5.25% for the amount of the high bid.
So that's about another £0.05 off lemurs, Jodies and Dans.

Then there is Paypal of course.
Free to send money but £0.25 for each transaction under £50.00 to receive it.
This means Dan is going to receive 4 transactions which will cost him £1.00 in total. £0.25 to get £0.01 from Jeremy :-) How sad!!!!!! Looks like the only winners here are eBay and Paypal!

Anyway. This means that Dan should get:
99*99*30*01=£2.29 from the players.
£1.20-5.25%=£0.06=£1.14 from his auction.
Less 25*25*25*25=£1.00 For Paypal

So the grand total will be £2.43. So you lost your 2 packets of crisps but still have enough profit to buy a pint of lager. It was all worth it in the end then :-)

Sorry for the maths bit but was just interested in it.
Thanks to all of you guys who joined in the fun.
Keep an eye out for something similar coming in the near future. Not going to be junk this time but will have a theme.

Showdown AEC

Amazing Ebay Challenge How exciting has all this AEC been huh? Well it's still not over yet. At the moment we have two leaders. That's Lemurgirl and Jodie both selling their Items for £0.99p. Well done girls. Dan is coming up their rear (sorry) with £0.64p and has a bit of a bidding war going on, so watch out girls. I think he is going to be the winner for the AEC personally. Then we have Rob with an amazing £0.30p (ok, it will cost him more to buy a jiffy bag and also he looses his money but it was good fun) Then we have Beav who is still going with no bids. Then there is Jeremy and myself with an astonishing Nill Point. Nothing. Sod bloody all. Have these bidders got no taste? I mean what's wrong with J's Knob and my Balls? Oh well better luck next time Jeremy. So we wait in anticipation for the final auctions to finish. Good luck guys.

Update: Sorry, just noticed Jeremy is still going. So maybe he still has a chance with his knob after all!

Music Meme

So here it is. The Music Meme thingy from Rob.

Total volume of music files on my computer:
Home has 15.89GB (Growing fast) and at work I have 3.83GB

The last CD I bought was:
Robert Plant - Mighty Rearranger I really wanted to see if the rumours were right. I love Led Zeppelin and they said that this album was his best work since Physical Graffiti. I doubt it but still I had to get it. I have heard it once since getting it and so far I like it but it's lacking a certain something (Led Zeppelin!)

Song playing right now:
Strangely enough I am listening to my new album. It's "Freedom Fries" from Robert Plant - Mighty Rearranger.

Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me:
I hate these questions. How anybody can pick 5 songs is beyond me. I will give it a go though.

  1. Battle of Evermore by Led Zeppelin
  2. Inside job by Little Village
  3. Nowhere to Run by Kiss
  4. Catholic girls by Frank Zappa
  5. Behind Blue Eyes by The Who

There you go. I am obviously in a Rock kinda mood today.

Five people to whom I’m passing the musical baton: I can't really, as most of the people who read this site have already done it!!!! And the others don't have websites. I s'pose I could ask some people to leave their answers in my comments though.

O.K then I will ask Dan (uk) Dan (Je) Beav Jodie Terry

Back from France

It's been a little hectic for the last couple of days but hopefully it will get back to normal soon. What have I been up to? Well it was my Birthday on Monday, so it was mostly spent celebrating that. On Saturday I had a party back at my place which lasted to about 7am. Then on Sunday I was invited to a mates for a B.B.Q. Was twatted after the first drink, I just love topping up. Then on Monday and Tuesday I was in France. Had lunch at Port Mer, which is a lovely little bay close to Cancale. Then went to Saint Malo where I had dinner at my favourite restaurant called Porte Saint Pierre. All I can say is that it was as good as always. Go there if you get the chance. Back to work yesterday but not a normal day for me. We had a new toy delivered to the office. A new scanner and plotter. This is one big bugger, I can tell you. Anyway, I spent all day trying to set it up and 'sus out how to use it. It's all set up now but I just have to sort out how to send plots directly from my computer. The Network isn't behaving as it should but I am on top of it all. Now I am back on my computer, I will have a little time to see how the AEC is doing. Then I will try and find some time to do a Music Meme sent to me by Robert. Oh and I have also gained my Silver Plaque from Jeremy.
