Aec

Right that's it. All of the entries are in now. Thanks everyone, for getting them all in on the same day. Don't know how we managed it but we did. Now let's see what happens :-) Not much I would imagine. But Rob is in the lead with one bid for 1 pence. Well he was last time I looked. Think the drinks may be on you Rob. Didn't I mention that? Only joking.

Lovely

Now this is what I call a nice day.
It is lovely out there today. It must be one of the nicest days we have had this year so far.
I know that because my computer is telling me so. Just look for yourselves.

Now doesn't that look nice? Hope you are all having the same.
O.k. I know I am stuck in my office but still it is nice to look out of the window occasionally.

AEC is GO

Today is the start date for the AEC. I have got one listing sent to me so far. I will put the links to the listings on your name to the right. Also Robert has sent me his item which you can view here.

Update: Robert has picked me up on a slight error here. I am getting my left and right's all mixed up. I meant to say. "I will put the links to the listings on your name to the left" Must be still pissed!

Blogger Murdered

This is a true story about a Blogger (Simon) and his Sister (Sharon) that were murdered. The murderer was caught by the police because of his last entry in his journal. The entry went like this:

"Anyway today has been weird, at 3 some guy ringed the bell. I went down and recognized it was my sister's former boyfriend. He told me he wants to get his fishing poles back. I told him to wait downstair while I get them for him. While I was searching them, he is already in the house. He is still here right now, smoking, walking all around the house with his shoes on which btw I just washed the floor 2 days ago! Hopefully he will leave soon"

Soon after posting that entry he and his Sister were both murdered! What a terrible thing to read. It makes you feel part of it when you read his Blog.

You can read the news story here Victim's E-journal led to slay suspect

You can read Simons Blog here ToTo247's Xanga Site

His personal website is here

And you can view his anime collection here

R.I.P Simon & Sharon.

This has to Stop

This has to "STOP NOW". Cutting down trees in the Amazon Rain Forest is just so wrong. It makes my blood boil. It is moronic that it is still going on. There are thousands of reasons why it shouldn't be allowed and no reasons why it should carry on, apart from peoples greed to get wealthy. I really wish I could do something about it, but what can one man do to make a difference? Anyway, read this while I calm down. Brazil losing fight to save the Amazon

Is the fact that the Amazon produces about 20% of all the new Oxygen in the world not enough? Rant over.

Hospital

Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday but I was in Hospital. I wont go into details on what I had done but I assure you, you wouldn't want it done to you. Mind you I don't think anyone likes operations, whatever they are. Anyway, I was well impressed with the General Hospital yesterday. The staff are unbelievable. They made me feel comfortable and looked after me every inch of the way. Especially one of them, you know who you are :-) So I'd just like to say "Thanks" for making my day that little bit easier. You guys do a great job. Hey! If I was the Prime Minister I would give you all a rise :-) Oh and looking forward to seeing you on Sunday for a few (too many) drinks!

See if you can beat my record, it stands at: $188667343.00 that was in New York and over 90 days. It will teach you a little about Stocks and Shares while you're at it too :-) Dope Wars Game.

Konfabulator 2

Konfabulator 2 has just been released today. Infact I am trying one of the new Widgets out now for this post. It's a new widget for sending posts to your Blogger account. Anyway we will see if this works. If you haven't got Konfabulator 2 yet then why not give it a go. It has got loads of useful widgets to muck about with. You can see all of them in the Widget Gallery to see what the hell I am talking about. Have fun.

P.S. The Blogger widget didn't work for this post, so I am entering it as normal. That's a good start :-)
But the rest seem to work ok so far.

Scare Tactics

I have three things to say about this video 1) If anyone ever did anything like this to me, I would have a Heart Attack. 2) If I managed to survive it, the person who organised it wouldn't survive. and finally 3) It's absolutely hilarious.

Women vs Men

I know you have probably read this or something along the same lines before but for some reason they just seem even more accurate today.

MONEY
A man will pay £2 for a £1 item he needs. A woman will pay £1 for a £2 item that she doesn't need but it's on sale..
ARGUMENTS
A woman has the last word in any argument. Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.
FUTURE
A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband. A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.
SUCCESS
A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man.
MARRIAGE
A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't. A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change and she does.
NATURAL
Men wake up as good -looking as they went to bed. Women somehow deteriorate during the night.

Medicine

Went to the Doctors this morning and he has prescribed me some pills. There is one good point to this and about 20 bad points.

I will start off with the good one.

I have been told that I need to drink as much fluid as possible. Now there's a thing! Being told by your Doctor to drink loads :-)

Now for the bad points. This is part of the instructions on my packet:

"you should know that this medication has caused serious and occasionally fatal allergic reactions in some patients. If you develop hives; difficulty breathing or swallowing; rapid, irregular or pounding heartbeat; fainting; dizziness; blurred vision, or other symptoms of a severe allergic reaction, seek emergency medical care right away.
Other side effects include:
upset stomach
vomiting
stomach pain
indigestion
headache
nervousness
agitation
anxiety
difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
nightmares or abnormal dreams
seizures
vaginal yeast infection (hope I don't get this one!)
confusion
shaking hands that you cannot control
believing that others want to harm you
hallucination (seeing things or hearing voices that do not exist)
depression
thoughts about dying or killing yourself"

Now i'm scared. Mind you, I suppose you can get that lot just by drinking anyway.
So if you are down the local tonight and observe me trying to kill myself or something don't worry, it's just the medication i'm on!

Lib Weekend

Well that was a nice long weekend. It was a Bank Holiday on Monday and because of that I decided to take the Tuesday off too. Liberation weekend was a total success in the end. We all had a great time. I wont go into the ins and outs but basically a load of us went out on Sunday had a meal and then went on a pub crawl and got bladdered. Monday was the Liberation Day itself. That was spent down in St Helier watching all the displays that were laid on. Landing craft on the beach, Red Arrows, various re-enactments, plane landing on the beach then taking off, fireworks etc etc etc. Oh and in between all of that lot, we were popping in and out of pubs. Like I do. Now back to work for a short 3 day week.

I missed it

I can't believe it! I had been waiting ages for yesterday to come and I missed the bloody thing. May the 4th. All I wanted to say was "May the fourth be with you". Oh well, 364 more days to wait. "May the fifth be with you............." Doesn't seem to work as well really.

Spoof Citroen C4 advert

Parody of Citroen 'dancing robot car' This is just brilliant stuff. One of x-bams artists, Alex Mallinson, created this affectionate spoof of The Embassy's fantastic Citroen C4 advert. He completed it in under two weeks. Now I wish I knew how to do that kind of stuff. Just click the picture to view it.

Survived it

Well I survived that weekend. Had a great time on Sunday. The football didn't quite go to plan as St Ouen beat St Mary 6-0! Didn't put a damper on things though. We managed to do all of the pubs I listed on Saturday (apart from the Tenby) and more! Yes most of them went on into town after St Aubin. I didn't, I had enough by then. So now looking forward to next weekend. That should be even more of a major weekend. It's the 60th anniversary of the Liberation of the Channel Islands on the 9th of May. It is a bank holiday over here that day, so we will be celebrating in style no doubt. On Friday I am going to some freinds for a meal and then no doubt down to the pub next door afterwards. Saturday will be a day of rest, ish. Then on Sunday I am going out for lunch with some more freinds, that will last the whole day and quite a few pubs. On the Monday (Liberation Day) there is quite a lot of things going on in town, so we will be going down there. Things which I want to go to are: St Helier's Liberation Square and the waterfront and watch the re-enactment of this historic day featuring the raising of the Union flag overlooking Liberation Square. Welcome our Royal visitor (The Queen I think), watch the re-enactment of Force 135 landing on the beaches. A fly past with The Red Arrows, the Battle of Britain Memorial flight and other aircraft from the forties and on. Subject to approval and conditions, a C130 Hercules and a DH Rapide, will land on St Aubin's beach. Music, street theatre and military bands, cavalcades of vintage and classic vehicles etc etc. Of course there is a food fair taking place at Les Jardins de la Mer too. That will have local dishes on sale. Drinks, music and general entertainment for most of the day. Then finish the day off with a spectacular Son et Lumiere and fireworks above Elizabeth Castle. That lot should keep me busy for the weekend. Oh the pain, the pain! I can feel it already. Liberation 60

Match of the Bay

Well it's here! Match of the Bay. A football match between St Ouen and St Mary. Basically a good excuse for a piss up. We sit in the bar over looking the pitch watching the football from a balcony, then go on a pub crawl for the rest of the day. Pubs we are visting, just so you can dodge them are: The Farmers The Prince of Wales St Marys Country Inn The Tipsy Toad The Tenby The Wine Bar The Trafalgar Kick off is at 3pm. Weather is good too 18°C. Wish me luck!
