AEC
I have only got 3 entries in for the AEC. Come on you guys let's get cracking. Obviously you are all far to busy and working really hard. At least it is a long weekend coming up so hopefully you will find some time to get some junk to sell on eBay. I must admit, the entries I have in so far do meet the junk criteria. If anyone bids on these, they have a real problem!
Anyway, send me your entries soon please.

Airbus A380
No doubt thousands of blogs all over the world (well in Europe at least) will have a post to do with the Airbus A380, as it was the maiden flight today. It took off at about 9:30am from Toulouse. Don't know if I would have liked to be on that flight, I am shit scared of flying. Always have to have a swifty to calm my nerves before I get on a plane. The plane is going to be up in the air for about 5 hours today, testing out bits and peices, like, does it take off, fly and land. The 3 main things a plane should do in my mind! Well they have answered the first question at least. They have decided to keep the wheels down for the whole flight just to be on the safe side! What the hell that means I don't know. You would have thought after spending billions on a plane that they would have sussed out the hydraulics and electrics before taking off. Anyway I wish the Airbus A380 all the success in the world. It is an amazing peice of engineering. It wont be coming into service for over a year, so don't hold your breath on getting tickets for it. It will obviously take them a year to see if it can fly or not :-)A380 takes off for maiden flight

Halloumi
As most of you know I have just come back from Cyprus. Whilst there I tried loads of local dishes and my favourite, as always, is Halloumi. If you haven't tried it then go get some.
Halloumi is a type of cheese, not like any other you are likely to try. It has this amazing texture and is just soooooo nice to eat. The best way to serve it is by grilling slices of it on both sides so it is golden brown. Yup you grill it, it doesn't melt.
You can buy it almost anywhere including those small stampers shops dotted around Jersey. So no excuse not to have some in your fridge. Another good thing with it is, you can keep an open packet of it in your fridge for about a year so you don't have to consume it within a week after buying it.
Why am I posting about cheese? Because I have been thinking about having some all day and I am now going to leave work a little early and grill some of my own.
Trust me it is that nice :-)

Slacking
Just realised that I hadn't put up a game for ages, which is quite slack of me really. So I do appologise. Now since I have been so slack I will give you 2 games to choose from today. One is called Bullseye! Which is a bit of a bitch but you will get the hang of it. If I can get 180 on it then you guys will have no problem. The second is from those lurvley guys from Yeti Sports. This is part 8 of their game called Jungle Swing. Get the Yeti to the top of the tree by grabbing branches. Sounds easy but it isn't. I haven't played on this one for long so will probably get used to it soon. Happy dossing.Posted by Markiss at 4:21 PM | Comments (0)

Back and Recharged
Well as you can see, I am now back from my Holiday. I had an xlnt time in Cyprus. I could tell it was going to be a good one right from the start. Got dropped off at the Hotel and went for a walk to 'sus out the surroundings. There were 6 pubs all within 100 yards of the Hotel :-) Now how good is that? Not only that but most of them sold a pint of lager* for a £1 a pint! Heaven. I made 2 of the pubs my local whilst over there, the main one was called the Shakespeare but I went to "The Nags Head" a few times. As you can see by the website, it was a well tacky English pub but I had a laugh there. The Hotel was good, it wasn't much to write home about but was clean and quite a good size. Had a slight worry about the electrics though, I mean who in their right mind would put a light switch actually in the shower? (Photo to follow). Apart from the tacky pubs, the Hotel was close to the beach and there were loads of nice restaurants there too. I think I had most of the local dishes which were lovely (Jubbly) ooops sorry about that.Anyway enough about the Holiday, now that I am back we can actually get the ball rolling for the The Amazing eBay Challenge. I have been sent one entry so far but need the rest soon please. So send them to me a.s.a.p. I will get put all the entries up on this site when I have received them all. Then I will set the start date. Will keep you all informed as we go.
Nice to be back!
* The Keo website isn't up and running yet but should be soon. I will be charging them a life supply of Keo to finish the site :-)

The Pissed Post
Well here it is...... Unfortunately I am not that pissed! But I still want to do the "Pissed Post". I have a slight problem. Well most of you knew that anyway, but I haven't got a clue what I want to sell on the A.E.C! Maybe I will pick something up in Cyprus. (That would be nice)..... Anyway, you lot know how to message me, so do it. Keep safe and speak soon. I can't believe you finally gave me the link Rob :-) Thanks for that. Oh my God, I have a taxi coming at 6am! Best go to bed now. Au Revoirs.Posted by Markiss at 12:20 AM | Comments (0)

Am nearly done
So to follow up from my previous post, I have nearly finished. Well as much as I possibly can. I am now going to start and get into Holiday mode :-) I can feel it already! Cyprus here we come. Unfortunately it does mean that I have to get a taxi at 6am tomorrow to get to the airport for the red eye. Hah, that should be a laugh. Anyway, I will be back in a week, so make sure you have all sent me your pics and descriptions of your "Item". I'm sure everyone is looking forward to seeing them. I will try and pop in from time to time while I am away but that depends on how easy it is to access the Internet over there. See you laters. No doubt I will post a pissed up entry when I get home from the pub tonight. Watch the space above :-)Posted by Markiss at 6:06 PM | Comments (0)
Holiday time
Reasons why I am going on Holiday: Stress basically. My work load recently has been a joke. I have been working on 3 sites, one with 6 houses, one with 3 houses and one with 11 houses. As with all sites, I am told they have to be completed as soon as possible. The problem being it's not physically possible for me to finish the jobs by the specified time. The problem with being an Architect is that we are on top of the pyramid. Everyone involved in the job comes to me for information on their particular line of work. Some are more of a pain than others but I wont go into details on that one. I nearly lost it with a client the other day, I shouldn't have. That's just not acceptable. I nearly lost it last night and that wasn't even in work. I shouldn't have done that. I finally did loose it this morning with my Business partners (My Brother and Dad). I shouldn't have done that! We fell out big time. It's bad enough arguing with your partners let alone your family. The atmosphere here this morning was terrible but the work still had to be done, so I just carried on. I then got a text from my Brother. He appolgised for what he said and told me he knows "we are both under 2 much pressure". I replied and appologised too. The atmosphere is alot better now but the jobs are still to be completed. I needed to take a little time out to write this hoping it may make me feel a little better. I feel as though I may loose it again if I didn't. I am so close. Why am I going on Holiday? I think the above should explain that question. Why am I going on Holiday? All I am going to do is think of work for the whole week. I am going to get business phone calls all week too. I will have to explain to people how to use my computer, over the phone, go through step by step instructions. Yes I am the only one in the office on a computer! The office nearly comes to a stand still when I go on Holiday. No wonder I get like this. Why am I going on Holiday? Because it's booked and I need to get outta here :-)Posted by Markiss at 1:10 PM | Comments (0)

The Amazing eBay Challenge
The Amazing eBay Challenge
Rules:
- You will need an eBay sellers account to play.
- The starting or reserve price will be between £0.01 - £0.99 so it should cost you just 15p to put the item up for sale.
- The item put up for sale will be "Junk" as in a plastic bag or a beer mat.
- Basically something you got hold of for nothing. You get the idea! The value of the item can’t exceed £2. No pinching stuff please. (If you do, then keep it to yourself)
- A photo and description of your Item shall be sent to me before we start.
- I will put up the items on my site where you can all see what you are up against. This gives us the opportunity to make sure you aren't cheating as well. When the items are up you cannot change your mind once you have seen the other players Items.
- Once all entries are in I shall announce the Starting date. (I will be away for a week, so that gives you plenty of time to get your entries in)
- The duration of the auction will be 7 days.
- Item cannot be bid on by anyone you know. (This is important as it could get stupid)
- Only 1 picture max is allowed. Which is free to post on eBay.
- Once submitted all url's to the item placed on eBay must be forwarded to me. I will email them to the other players and put the links on my site.
- No money is to be made on postage. I.e.: £35 for postage. (I hate that)
- The winner will be the person who gets the highest price for their item.
- Any questions you may have must be sent to me prior to the commencement date to amazingebaychallenge@markiss.co.uk
- If there are any disagreements, unforeseen circumstances or there is a tie etc, there will be a vote. All players taking part are allowed to vote.
- If there is still a tie at the end of the vote, my word will be final.
- The winner will receive all money raised from the other player’s auctions. (To be paid via Paypal, if you haven't got a Paypal account could you please let me know.) Only one thing to mention here. If for some strange reason the item gets loads of money, there will be a max of £50 to be paid out. The remainder will be kept by the owner of the item. (doubt in a million years that would happen but I had to put something along those lines)
One more thing.
This is just a laugh brought on by a night out in my local. The rules above may seem a little much but we all have to start with something to go by. I am looking forward to seeing your photos with descriptions etc. I will be keeping an eye on all the auctions and posting updates throughout the week of play. That’s if anyone actually gets any bids J
Now go and try and find something to sell.
Happy playing and Good Luck.

eBay Challenge
I am sorting out "An Amazing eBay Challenge" as has now been advertised over at Rob's site :-). Before I can start with the rules I would like to know who wants to play the challenge. It all started with a previous post of mine a few days ago. I want the game to start on the 27th April (Can be changed to suit all players). You will need an eBay sellers account to play. That it easy to set up. The starting or reserve price will be between £0.01 - £0.99 so it should cost you just 15p to put the item up for sale. As I said before, the rules are yet to follow but just to give you an idea of what I am looking for. The item put up for sale will be "Junk" as in a plastic bag or a beer mat. Basically something you got hold of for free. No pinching stuff please. The winner will be the person who gets the highest price for their item. Sounds pretty straight forward really but I suppose I do have to have some sort of rules written up. Now can you put your name in my comments to let me know who is wanting to play: "The Amazing eBay Challenge". P.S. Thanks to Rob for naming the Challenge (Very original :-) P.P.S. If Rob doesn't mind (Which I am sure he doesn't) maybe you could advertise it on your site (And pinch his Picture). P.P.P.S. I will be wanting a photo and description of your Item before we start. Then I will put up the items on my site where you can all see what you are up against. Also we can make sure you aren't cheating.Posted by Markiss at 2:38 PM | Comments (0)

Any Ideas?

Talaq
Shahzad Alam, 30, uttered 'talaq' (I divorce you) three times to his wife Firdause, 14, while she slept. He was heard by family members so apparently it meets all the requirements of a Muslim divorce. Now that's what I call an easy divorce.

Luecke
Whoever made these seriously large letters has got a lot of land and has far too much time on his hands. Oh and isn't very Eco friendly either. Interesting to look at though.

UT 2004
Last night I was invited to play Unreal Tournament 2004 with Rob and Jeremy online. It was a great laugh but I have realised that they are both a hell of alot better at it than me. I think I need to take some time out and do a bit of practising. At one point, I was being blown to pieces and didn't even know who from. You guys must spend ages on that game! Anyway, thanks for the laugh. We must do it again sometime.Posted by Markiss at 4:52 PM | Comments (0)

Hedgehunter
Since nobody was going to help pick me a horse. I decided to back my own. I never win on the National when I pick my own horse but this year I finally did.
So thanks for not giving me any tips people :-)
The horse came in first place at 7-1. I put £5 each way on it. So how much do I get for that? I know I get £35 for the win and my £5 back but what about the place? I haven't got a clue how to work that out. This ticket must be worth about £60 I would have thought.
By the way, the only reason I bet on it was because it is owned by a Jerseyman.

Having a Bet
It's that time of year again. It's the Grand National on Saturday, where 40 horses run over 26 jumps round a course of 4½ miles. So you don't ever have a good idea on who is going to win it. I never know who to go for and I normally loose. So this year I am wanting you to pick me 3 horses. I will bet on the 3 that look best to me. So please go and check out the horses and leave me your choices in my comments. Thanks....... If I don't get any comments then I will just pick 3 out of a hat and let you know how I got on :-)Posted by Markiss at 3:12 PM | Comments (0)
More Storage
Those nice people over at Gmail have been giving us "gmail account holders" more storage again. Not that I need more than 1000 MB's. But for just over a week now our account size has been creeping up and they say it's going to keep on getting bigger and bigger. They are true to their word too. Last week I looked at my account and it had grown to 1067 MB's, I have just looked again and now my account has gone up to 2070 MB's. I was going to mention this last week but they started it on April 1st so didn't know if it was true or not. Maybe it is just a really long April fools joke? Hey! But maybe not :-) They have also increased the amount of invites to 50. Since I have 2 gmail accounts that makes 100 invites. So if I invited myself all of those I could have 204000 MB's to my disposal but that would just be a sad nerdy thing to do. Right? Hmmmm! To think only a few months ago I was using Hotmail with just 2 MB's. How things change.Posted by Markiss at 10:10 AM | Comments (0)

Peperami Firestick
Just had a Peperami Firestick. Think I need a pint of water now. I suppose they aren't that hot but they are bloody nice.
I took a look at their website which was quite good. Couldn't believe you have to be 18 or older to view it though! Have a look at the adverts that were too hot for T.V :-) The steaming one is xlnt.

Registration Check
Today I was asked to set up a hotmail account for someone. Seemed pretty straight forward to me, as I have done quite a few in my time. Why they didn't want a gmail account I will never know. Anyway I was going through the process and by the time I got to the end I came to the Registration Check part. This is a picture with letters on it which you have to type in so you are proving you are actually a human and not a machine. Well I reckon even some humans are going to have problems with some of these. It took me 3 attempts to get mine right. Unfortunately I didn't save the one I got but I had a look through some others and saved them for you to see. Not quite as bad as mine but still quite awful.

God it gives me a headache just looking at them. I think they should give you a prize if you get it right on your first attempt.

Teasing
I've just had Unreal Tournament 2004 delivered to my office. What a tease! Now, do I install it on my office computer? (just for a taste) or do I wait until I get home tonight? It's a difficult one but I think I should wait, there is no way I would get any work done if I installed it here. Looks as though my new computer sound system is going to get a bashing tonight. Looking at the Unreal Tournament 2004 website, it looks to me as if I will need to patch my software and stuff. Any of you guys know what I need to do? Or do I just leave it as it is?Posted by Markiss at 11:57 AM | Comments (0)

Selling on eBay
It does amaze me what you can buy on eBay these days. Yesterday I came across this item: eBay item: Checkers Superstore (Channel Islands) Carrier Bag, New. Is someone actually going to buy a plastic bag? I brought my lunch into work with one of these today. I have hundreds of them at home. O.k, they aren't new but I could get hold of loads of them new. Also, I always see Jersey pound notes on eBay and they actually sell for just under a tenner (sometimes). Surely I could become rich selling these. They aren't even mint condition (look at the link). I think we should have a competition and see what we can sell on eBay. We would have to agree on what to sell and the winner will be the person who sold their item for the most. The items would all have to have a similar value though. What do you reckon? Could be a laugh. Winner would receive all money that other players got from their sale. (all of 20 pence I would imagine)Update: I forgot to mention. Look at how much the guy selling the pound note is charging for postage!
