Neil Armstrong - The Truth
Some of you will be old enough to remember the moon landing back in 1969 and some of you wont. But there's one sure thing, that you would have seen the famous film of Neil Armstrong actually stepping out and saying "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind!". But what you didn't know is that N.A.S.A had to do an editing job which was needed to prepare the astronaut's moment of glory for broadcast. Well at long last the original un-edited footage has been released. Take a look for yourselves Neil Armstrong - The Truth If watching at work, best keep the volume down a bit. Neil gets a bit excited!Posted by Markiss at 12:08 PM | Comments (0)

Blogging by Email
Well thanks to those lovely people over at Blogger I can now post to my blog by email. The advantage of that is, I now have the power of the text editing in my email program. In blogger you can't assign colours automatically or even text size.
Oh and of course I can blog from any mobile device from anywhere at anytime. Now when I go on Holiday I can do it from my Hotel room instead of paying to use a computer in an Internet Café. Only problem now is, I will have to go and buy a mobile device that does send email. Any excuse for another toy huh? :-) I haven't got a clue what there is on the market for mobile devices, so any ideas would be more than appreciated.
Well here it goes, my first email blog. *Presses Send*

Sex and Kids (or not)
"Childless couple told to try sex"A German couple who went to a fertility clinic after eight years of marriage have found out why they are still childless - they weren't having sex.
The University Clinic of Lubek said they had never heard of a case like it after examining the couple who went to see them last month for fertility tests.
Doctors subjected them to a series of examinations and found they were both apparently fertile, and should have had no trouble conceiving.
A clinic spokesman said: "When we asked them how often they had had sex, they looked blank, and said: "What do you mean?".
"We are not talking retarded people here, but a couple who were brought up in a religious environment who were simply unaware, after eight years of marriage, of the physical requirements necessary to procreate."
The 30-year-old wife and her 36-year-old husband are now being given sex therapy lessons while the university clinic undertakes a study to try to find out if there are more couples with a similar lack of sex education.
Now come on! That can't be true, can it?

Inner Peace
By following the simple advice I read in a newspaper article, I have finally found inner peace........the article read:"The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you've started."
So I looked around the house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished................... and before coming to work this morning I have finished off a bottle of Gin, 1/2 a bottle of red wine, a small box of chocolates, 3 shots of tequila, a can of lager, a large spliff and some cheese triangles.
You have no idea how fucking good I feel.... :-)
You may pass this on to those you feel are also in need of Inner Peace.........................

Weekend Round Up
Another good weekend had by all, I think! Friday night went down to the clubhouse (St Mary) it was totally packed there. They had a band on, which aren't exactly in my top 1,000,000 bands but they were o.k I suppose. Had a good drink and chat with everyone then at closing the inevitable happened. Someone says "Does anyone fancy a late drink?" Of course most people do and I seem to have the only place in St Mary that caters for these people (piss heads). So we made our way back to my place for a few drinks and a chat. Well it was meant to be like that. We ended up watching "Jackass the movie" which is just sooo good. After that things started getting a bit stupid, as they do. We decided to get the guitars and bongo's out. Why do we do these things? I ended up wearing a bongo on my head and the guitarist was the chef of the Windmill, who has obviously never touched a guitar in his life. Sounded great at the time though. Well it was a good laugh anyway. Think everyone left about 3am. Saturday night was a bit quieter. Didn't fancy the clubhouse that night, so me and Xavier rode down to the Devils Hole on our bikes for a change. Didn't get there until about 10pm. The good thing about the Devil's is that they have a lager called "Breda". A lot stronger than my normal :-) Well anyway, then we went back to my place for a chat and that concluded Saturday night. Sunday was a normal, make the most of the weather, day. Did the thrift club in the morning. Then sat out in the sun, mowed the lawn. Went down to St Ouen for an Ice Cream then finished off going to the clubhouse for a couple to finish off the weekend. Now it's back to work, really busy at the moment. But working on a good job. Oh and have just received an email from Amazon telling me that my monitor has been despatched. Xlnt, can't wait!Posted by Markiss at 12:00 PM | Comments (0)

MSN Hotmail
Whilst I was sorting out the Gmail accounts, I decided to check my Hotmail account to see how much space I had used on that. A really strange thing happened to me. I accidentally signed into the wrong account. Don't know how it happened but it did. He must have the same password as me or something! Anyway, I diverse, the bloke who's email account it is, happens to be quite a well known person in Politics. I have put a link to it here so you can see for yourselves. Ssssh! don't tell anyone else about this, as I think it maybe illegal. MSN Hotmail - InboxPosted by Markiss at 3:25 PM | Comments (1)
Gmail Give Away
Well since it is Friday, I promised to let the 2 people who I would give the Gmail accounts to today. I have sent 2 of you an email to let you know. If you don't reply to me by Monday afternoon I will give them to someone else, so please reply a.s.a.p. I had 6 people wanting them in all......... Hope you enjoy the extra space you will now have. Talking about that, I just logged into my account and saw that it said "You are currently using 0 MB (0%) of your 1000000 MB." Shit me! 1000000 MB's! I thought it was only 1000 MB's. Wonder if that is a mistake or they have actually given me that much? That will keep me going for a while I think :-) Anyway please email me a.s.a.pPosted by Markiss at 1:02 PM | Comments (0)
Game time
You gotta try this out. Can be a bit infectious though. Go into settings and mark the wall up and mark the wind up too. Makes it much more playable. Then fight the computer with a bow and arrow. Benq 17" LCD Monitor
More goodies on their way....... Since I got my printer down a couple of weeks ago, i'm now gagging for another toy to play with. This time it's a new monitor. At the moment I am using an ancient CRD monitor, which takes up loads of space on my desk. It sticks out about 450mm from the wall. I see all these other people using these nice slender looking monitors, so I thought it was about time to join the rest of the best. Or is it best of the rest? Confused now! Anyway take a look at my new play thing called a Benq 17" LCD Monitor FP791 with Speakers. Nice huh? And best of all is that since we live in Jersey I get a further £65 off the price listed. Ahh! Life is good :-)Posted by Markiss at 3:34 PM | Comments (0)
Work Related Blog
O.K....... I don't normally put boring old work questions up on my blog but this particular problem is doing my nut in. And you never know, someone other Architect or Autocad user might actually read this blog. It's happened before! So here it is: I have been having this problem with hatching for a while now. Let's see if I can describe it so you can understand the problem. Let's say I use the Rectangle command "^C^C_rectang" to create three rectangular polylines all within each other. For example smaller one in the middle, then larger outside that one and then larger one around both of those. Now if I try to hatch the area between the largest and the middle sized rectangle, the hatch pattern hatches that space plus the inner rectangle too. How do I stop this from happening? Must be something to do with boundaries. I am having the problem with Autcad Lt 2000 and Autocad 2002. There must be a simple solution to this. Here is a simple picture of what I mean hatchproblem.jpgPosted by Markiss at 12:37 PM | Comments (0)

Weekend Round up
Had another good weekend for a change. Friday night was spent down the Mary's trying to learn Polish. Couldn't quite sus it out at first but after a few pints I was talking fluently. They seem to use 20 times more words and letters than we use. I mean get a load of this: Happy Birthday! in Polish is Wszystkiego najlepszego z okazji urodzin! Hmmmmm, far too many Z's for my liking. Saturday was the main day of the weekend. Went to a Murder / Mystery night. Everyone went dressed up, which was a good start! On entering we were given Champagne and Canapés. Now Champagne and me don't really mix, after 3 glasses of that stuff I was already feeling the effects of the alcohol. We hadn't even sat down for the meal yet either! I knew I was in for a good night then :-) The meal was xlnt. A huge poached Salmon. Followed by Fruit and Chocolate dip. My mouth is watering now just thinking about it. The actual Murder / Mystery part of it was quite a laugh. I was so confused in the end that I hadn't got a clue who anyone was. So in true Markiss style I just concentrated on the drinking. The party went well on into the morning and ended up getting taxi at 4:30am. Thanks for a great night guys, will post some pictures of it soon. Sunday was more relaxing, did a few chores that have been on my mind for ages like re-wiring the lounge sockets. Boring I know but it had to be done. Then out to Ricardo and Sarararararah's for a B.B.Q. Had a few beers and a laugh there. Listened to some scary music like, Musical Youth--Pass The Dutchie and the theme tune to Jim'll fix it. Sussed out that there are actually 8 days in the week! Hmmm? Obviously spent far too long speaking to Ricardo. Bad for my health I think :-) Anyway after that decided to go to the pub to finish off what was an XLNT weekend. Roll on the next one!Posted by Markiss at 3:04 PM | Comments (0)

Phoenix
I told you I would put up another game........ Well this used to be one of my favourite games when I was a kid. So if you were brought up in the eighties, you must remember Phoenix. Can be a little tricky but if you played it as much as I did years ago, you will have sussed out all the moves. This game will bring the child back out of you when you play it. It even has all the original sounds to go along with it. So stick in your 10p and play Phoenix. Have a good weekend :-)Posted by Markiss at 6:07 PM | Comments (0)

Want a Gmail?
I nearly forgot! Since I was asked to try out Googles new email service called Gmail (as if you haven't heard of it!) I have been given the opportunity to invite some people to get their own Gmail account. I can only give 2 people an account though. So if you would like one just leave a message here or email me and I will try and sort it out for you. Suppose I should say "first come first served" but you never know with me :-) Then again probably wont be able to give these accounts away either! We'll see. Just thought I would offer! Remember you get 1 gigabyte of space with them. That's right 1000 mega big ones!Posted by Markiss at 1:38 PM | Comments (0)
Murder Mystery
Had a different night from normal last night. Decided to take a walk down to the Devil's Hole in St Mary for a change. Haven't been to that pub for ages and it's only a 20 min walk away. Had forgotten how many millionaires live in this Island of ours. We must have walked past 6 or 7 mansions with tennis courts, swimming pools etc down that one road! Anyway got down the Devils and had 3 pints of Fosters and had a really good time. I think I will start to drink there more often in the summer. Would be nice just for the change of scenery. Then the night went pretty normal after that! Walked back up to the Mary's had a few more there then back home. Surfed a bit on the Net and then by 2:30am I was feeling a bit knackered so decided to go to bed. So what do I do? Get myself a pint of water and then go to the dunny. Put my glass on the window cill (sill to you non Architects!) and then smash, shatter, fuck! The glass slipped out of my hand and shattered all over the toilet floor! And there's me stood in the middle of it with no socks on and wanting to sleep. What a bloody nightmare. Only difference with this nightmare was that I was actually awake! CUT along story short, it took me ½ and hour to clean it all up and did my finger in too! Oh well at least it is Friday today. Got Gary's Murder / Mystery dinner tomorrow night. Never been to one before but am really looking forward to going there. I have to dress up like Osama Bin Laden and take a gun with me! Doesn't sound like a good start but hey, you never know!Posted by Markiss at 12:59 PM | Comments (0)
Game day
Warning........... This game / quiz isn't designed for someone who has been out all night and has a hangover! It can get really quick and start to spin you out a bit. Must admit I got all 8 the first time I played it but see how you do. Maybe i'm just a freak! Well actually I know i'm a freak but there you go :-) So here it is Spin the freaky little chicken Will probably put another one up laterzzzzzzzzz.Posted by Markiss at 12:13 PM | Comments (0)

Beheading
It's dominating the news and the Internet. I don't need to talk about it here because you can read everything you need to know about it everywhere else. On what actually happened and what people think of it. I just wanted to let you know that I went over to Drink this..... written by Tall Glass of Milk to see the video footage. I started to download it then stopped half way through. Then again started to download it later and still stopped half way through. Just can't bring myself to watch it. Looking at some of the comments on other sites, I think it is quite wise I don't. I will just end up getting totally pissed off.Posted by Markiss at 5:05 PM | Comments (0)
Asshole
Well at long last there is another Gene Simmons solo album coming out shortly called Asshole. Have pre-ordered it so I hope it's as good as his past stuff. Reading up on it boosted my opinions of it luckily. Apparently Frank Zappa and Bob Dylan both feature on the album so things are looking pretty good. On another note, don't mice fucking stink when they have been sitting behind your freezer for the last 2 weeks decomposing? My Dad's cat has been bringing in bloody mice for the last 3 weeks and one obviously escaped and hid behind the freezer. The kitchen was minging last night when I got back from work. So had to pull the lot out to get to the poor little critter. Thought that was the end of it until we sat down for dinner and put our feet on a little shrew this time. Well that was it, I locked the cat flap! Sick and tired of this happening. I wouldn't mind if it was my cat but being someone elses is just taking the piss. He never takes them into my Dad's house. Anyway I had the last laugh last night. Got back from the pub (for a change) and went into my study and suddenly heard an almighty thump! It was the cat trying to get in with another mouse or something and he just ran straight into the cat flap not knowing I had locked it. That will teach him. But I will probably start feeling guilty soon, knowing me! and unlock it again. And why oh why doesn't he get the bloody moles that are turning our garden into the Normandy landing beeches at the moment? Well now I feel a bit better now I have got that off my chest. One more thing! I am going Cockling tonight with a couple of mates down St Aubin somewhere? Should be a good laugh. Probably wont get any but will let you know tomorrow. Should look quite stupid raking a beach :-)Posted by Markiss at 4:23 PM | Comments (0)

Since blogger has decided to go with the, keep up with the Jones' cliché. I thought I would start to change a few bits and pieces on my blog. None of you will really notice the changes but I certainly will. Still not quite up to what I would have expected but on its way to being more user friendly at last. Maybe one day I will get round to using Movable Type, but until that happens, blogger is definitely got a lot better. First change..... Liberation Day
For those of you, not in the know, it was Liberation day in the Channel Islands this weekend. It normally means that we have a day off work but as it fell on a Sunday this year, it wasn't officially a Holiday. So I decided to take today off anyway. Along with a bunch of mates who all went on the severe piss with me yesterday. We have made it an official party day for the last few years and no doubt it will carry on being so in the future. God help us next year when it is the 60th annivesary of the Liberation. Well to some it up reasonably quickly. We all met down the Mont Felard at 11:30am to start the day with a couple of pints. Then got on the bus to St Aubin, where we had lunch in the Old Court House. Downstairs to the bar after that. Strolled on to the Tenby. Swayed to the Trafalgar. Hopped to the Wine Bar. Things were getting quite blurry by then. Am having to think what happened next now! Ermmmmm? Hang on a minute while I get my bearings! Hmmm........ Ah that's right! Now for the second leg of the pub crawl. Then had a walk along the beach to the Foresters. (Well some of them got the bus there! LAZY B*stards :-) Had a few there then into the Goose on the Green. Stagggered up to the Brit Bel Royal after that and then on to our last destination which was back to the Mont Felard. As you can imagine, we were all totally gone by then. We left the Felard at closing time. So it was a 12 hour session in all. It didn't stop there either! Then someone, god knows who, probably Neil or Toots, had a great idea of going to Milbrook park to have a go on the swings/slides etc. Not a very good idea but what a laugh. Had loads of bruises this morning. Neil was nearly arrested by the police. Well not as such but they asked him and Toots a few questions :-) Then back to their place to end the evening off. What a great day. Really good time with some really nice freinds. Can't wait for next year now. Because we all took the day off today, we decided to all meet up again and finish off what we started yesterday. So we all met up in the Union in St Lawrence and then down to the Vic in the Valley for lunch and more drinks. Now I am just about knackered enough to go back to bed. Well for your amusement I have posted some of the photo's which we took yesterday. Some of them meaning that we took 140 of them and couldn't be bothered to put all of them up here. Oh and some of them were just not publishable (is that a word?) Anyway here are the 66 Liberation Day Photo's As usual, if anyone wants their photo taken off the Net then just let me know and I will take them down a.s.a.p. But then again looking at the other photo's of you lot on my website, I can't see why you would want me to ;-) Back to work tomorrow. Nevermind! See ya.Posted by Markiss at 6:42 PM | Comments (0)

Weight Watchers
Can anyone tell me what weightwatchers is all about? I have just been out to get a sarnie and a packet of crisps for lunch and while I was looking to see which crisps I wanted, I over heard a couple of women talking. They had a basket full of these weightwatcher products and were at the crisps shelves holding a packet of "Mr Porky" pork scratchings. They were discussing whether or not they could buy them and looking at the back of the packet to see how much fat is in them. "Fucking loads darling, they are made of bloody fat!" Anyway they decided that they were fine and proceeded to buy 2 large packets for a snack. The rest of their weightwatcher shopping consisted of nothing but cakes and ice cream! Just a word of advice to people who go on a diet. DON'T BUY CAKES, ICE CREAM OR LUMPS OF FAT. Even if they are these so called weightwatcher ones. Eat fruit and vegetables more often. Eat a little but consistently throughout the day. And most importantly STOP KIDDING YOURSELVES. Either go on a diet or don't. Right, i'm glad I got that off my chest. Now for a packet of Mr Porky's....... Wow there is 41g of fat in each 100g's. Yeah really great for a diet!Posted by Markiss at 4:13 PM | Comments (0)

Reading the news this morning brightened up my day. At long last they have finally found proof of Saddam's weapons of Mass destruction. I must admit, even I was starting to wonder if they existed. Bet Bush and Blair are happy now. These new photo's are totally amazing and to think they were all taken by spy satellites. Technology is just so amazing these days. World of Soil
The Big Question............? Over at Jeremy's site he has a Big question thing going on. Basically answer his questions and get points. Well in this case you get "Soil Points" and when you get enough you can trade them in for "Soil Prizes". Well I did just that and now I have my first prize. You can see it if you follow the link on the left below my shout box. Now apparently when you get all of the prizes, it will spell out a word or clue or message of some sort. So there you go, I have a "Y" now. Could take a while for the rest I think. Watch this space. On another note. It's amazing what make-up can do for people when they wear it. Well step in the computer. LPG Conversions
Came across this site which calculates how much I could save on fuel for my car if I coverted it to LPG. Apparently I would save £245 a year. Now that sounded pretty good to me. 2 problems sprung to mind though. The conversion would cost me £1650 so it would take me nearly 7 years before I started to save any money and by then I would have sold the car anyway. But the main reason why I wouldn't do it was because my nearest gas station that sells LPG is in Dorset! So it would cost me £200 everytime I wanted to fill up. Just to get to the garage and back. I'm all for green fuel but that just doesn't stick. See if you can save on fuel for your car here : The Greenfuel Company - LPG Conversions - HomePosted by Markiss at 6:51 PM | Comments (0)

Weekend over with
Well that long weekend seemed to just fly by! Was a mixture of good and bad really. Will just mention the good bits here though. Friday night was quite normal really. Went down the pub late. Had as many beers as possible in what short time I had. Then spent 2 hours on the Net doing nothing in particular, as I do! Saturday was a different matter. It started with going to a Friends wedding. It turned out to be a really good day. We were sat with 2 other couples that we had never met before. Really nice people and got on with them really well. Well I thought so :-) Then we were joined by the girls from La Hougue. One of them told me I could take her new convertable Beetle for a spin, so will be reminding her that later. Had far too much to drink and ended up crashing out at half past 2 in the morning. Which is earlier than I do in the week, so I must have been pissed! Got up Sunday morning opened the curtains and saw it was great weather so Invited some mates up for a BBQ. One thing lead to another and ended up as a major piss up, for a change. Went through loads of wine, had some weird conversations, listened to some top tunes and had some burnt food too! Then down to the pub just to annoy everyone there :-) Back home to chat into the early hours of the morning. Good day! Then came Monday (Bank Holiday) Did virtually nothing! Just like it's meant to be................ Now for a short week and then major weekend next week. My Uncle and his mates are coming over from the U.K so it will be another major drinking weekend. Nice! Oh and Allan? Just looked in my camera and found this photo of you from Sunday night. Just had to put it up :-)Posted by Markiss at 12:31 PM | Comments (0)
